Great place to stay, good location. Has an amazing bar on sight as well. Met some lovely people as well.

Couldn’t beat the location and the en-suite bathroom in our private room was excellent. The facility was very clean the Bar 50 below was very fun. Unfortunately had a lot of issues with the cards to unlock our room that was very inconvenient, but the staff was accommodating and tried their best to help. I suspect this was a rare issue though, so I would still highly recommend a stay here.

Location, room, vibes were perfect. Staff were so lovely (especially Megan who was so lovely and we will miss her). Don’t think you should have to pay for bedding and towels and the private room was overpriced for a hostel but still couldn’t fault the place. Thank you

We had a nice stay overall. We have stayed here previously but under different management. We stayed in a private room at the hostel. The upgrade to the bathroom in our private room was excellent. As a group we felt there needs to be more storage space for personal items however. Like a small table, a chair, more charging points, a shelf in the shower for shampoo etc. Also a shelf in next to the sink. The ladders on the bunk beds are very short, which made getting up and down difficult.

Good hostel, nice to sit down at night at the bar. However, every night there were external parties hosted, so no tables were available to the hostel guests which was a bit disappointing. Also, compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in, it’s a bit unpersonal: hard to find other solo travellers because there simply isn’t a ‘lounge’. However: beds were great!! Slept really well.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hostel. I only chose it because I had one night in Edinburgh before moving on - this hostel is not far from Waverley and was very cheap. For £8 per night I wasn't expecting it to be great, but it was very clean, modern, and surprisingly quiet. Nobody in my room had bedsheets which was very weird, and the automatic bathroom lights turn on if I roll over in bed too hard (I was directly next to the bathroom area) but other than that I have no complaints.

Public bar downstairs which was super fun, great location on cow gate st, and curtains around the bed. Each room had 4 bathroom cubicles (2 shower, 2 toilet). however no kitchen facilities at all (not even fridge kettle microwave) and they kindly stored my milk for me overnight but then had thrown it out by the morning. Often this hostel brand does attract business people though who aren’t very chatty or keen to go out and about

Overall, the location and staff are great. However, I strongly suspect there were bed bugs in both the rooms I occupied as I was constantly bitten at night. The sheets were bloodstained as well. Moreover, you have to rent your mattress cover, a ting I never witnessed in any other hostel.

Not greatest value compared to some near by.short stay like a day probably fine but not for 5 days. horrid waterproof mattresses. Roasting. day 5 the person on the bottom bunk vomiting into their shoe. Maybe dont visit near freshers week. Maybe there should be adult dorms or for people travelling for work? Little kitchen, technically only for staff, not very clean. Storage space good on rooms but no locks. Showers were good!
