About

Cologne is worth more than just one visit. Germany's oldest big city is a vibrant metropolis with a young spirit. With its sights from 2000 years of history and its position as an ever-growing media location, the cathedral city easily spans past and present. And if you once had the chance to meet the lively and easy-going people of Cologne and their tolerant and open-minded attitude you know why 'it's so beautiful on the Rhine', as the popular song has it.

The youth hostel is in a central location on the right bank of the Rhine, exactly opposite the Old Town, the cathedral and the city centre. It is a modern meeting place for people from all over the world and an ideal base camp for many and varied expeditions into the city.

We have 4-bed-rooms, double and single rooms available, all with own shower, washing-facilities and toilet. Internet-access, Bistro and meals (breakfast included) are also available. At our hostel there is an international young atmosphere in an old, but friendly city with a lot of attractions day and night.

For the price, this was the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. It was extremely without air conditioning or a fan in the room. The atmosphere is non existent. If you are a young adult looking for a place to stay in Cologne, do not go here. It is almost exclusively families, school trips and older people. Also, I may have missed the actual bar, but the only one I could find was a fridge in which there was beer and other drinks you could pick out and buy. There are better hostels for less.

This has to be by far the worst place I've actually stayed in especially for the price. Positives. Its clean. Negative, it's f******* €50 mate for a room of 4, no aircon, no towel (especially for the price) and the beds aren't made. It was that hot and stuffy you mose well have oiled and buttered me up for the barbie, it would have been a cooler experience. Wifi doesn't make it past the first floor, but at least you get an average 'free' breakie included for the lack of sleep you've experience

We had a lovely stay at this hostel. It was so convenient because it’s about 5 minutes walk from the Lanxess Arena, where we went to a concert. Really nice walk over the Hohenzollernbrücke into the centre to see the Dom etc. The room was a nice size, very clean, and the free breakfast was great. We payed with card for the accommodation but could only pay in cash for extra add ons like towels. Would definitely stay here again.
