About

As Colombia’s shining jewel of art, culture and design, Medellin is hailed as the place to visit for every type of culture vulture out there, from foodie to fashionista, from hippie to hipster. At Socia/tel Medellin, you’ll find a welcoming community of fellow travellers, fearless adventurers who are ready to help you take on this incredibly diverse city.

Despite the small-town feel of Medellin, this huge metropolitan city offers a bumper crop of museums, cultural centres, indie movie theatres, avant-garde restaurants and wine bars, and—of course—coffee shops. Most notable are the Museum de Antioquia and the MAMM (Museum of Modern Art). Those with a taste for nature can take a funicular ride up the mountains, stopping at the small communities along the way, or going straight to the top for gorgeous panoramic views and zip line rides.

Use our common areas to plan out your day and make new friends and when you need to get stuff done, check out our Wi-fi- equipped co-working room for instant productivity. We offer both private and shared air-conditioned dorms, perfect for every guest and every budget.

In the room everything was old. The floor was peeling up with gaps for bacteria to harvest in the cheap wood. There was a cockroach that ran behind the bathroom mirror one day. The cooker and cooking utensils aren’t fit for purpose so don’t waste your money getting a room with a kitchen. There’s nothing to wash up with and the coffee machine didn’t work. On top of that, there’s an extractor vent in the stairwell that resonates a noise which consumes the entire floor which prevents sleeping
