Meet Sandy, a Midwestern girl born in 1957 to rolling hills and open plains. She was much larger then most trailers of her day so she spent much of her life on the farm, dreaming of a wild life out west. She fantasized about having James Dean climb inside her and sipping cocktails with Marilyn off Highway 1. So finally, she traded her acres and hit the open road.
About 8 hours into being on the road Sandy began to panic. The road was bumpy, her 60 year old frame rattled and shifted, her insides turned. 'What have I done!?' The unfamiliar landscape felt threatening, far from the calm spaces and green grass she was used to. There was something wild about this place, untamed, majestic. She felt a pull, something tugging her hitch in a way she had never felt before. As she crested the hill she saw Taos on the horizon.

We convinced Sandy she didn't need to find the party, she is the party. We gave her a makeover, complete with 8 bunks, and put her at the heart of Hotel Luna Mystica. The Sands @ Hotel Luna Mystica aka Sandy is a renovated vintage 1957 trailer with bunk beds, common space, kitchenette, bathroom and shower house right next door.
Sandy is located at Hotel Luna Mystica, a vintage trailer hotel that features renovated trailers as hotel rooms. Sandy is our hostel!

Next door to Taos Mesa Brewing, a brewery/restaurant/venue that hosts live music and entertainment every single night.
We are 20 minutes from natural hot springs, formed on the banks of the Rio Grande River. We are 30 minutes from Taos Ski Valley, hosting world renowned skiing, hiking and biking. We are 15 minutes from historic downtown Taos and Taos Pueblo
