Very peaceful place that offers good tours and hmyou can do hikes from the lodge. Not many backpackers there when I was there, more families/couples/groups of friends but I was there with some friends and had a great time. Downside is there is only WiFi in the restaurant and it didn't always work. Would be nice to have it in the common room as well. Kitchen seemed big and well stocked, and food in the restaurant was nice - though you are limited to a three course set menu for dinner.

Had a really awesome time here. Facilities were fantastic and Russell and Miriam at the lodge were great - thank you guys for a fantastic stay! We did a hike with Dane as our guide while we were there and it was such an awesome day out so thank you to Dane as well for his incredible knowledge and friendliness! The Giant’s Cup cafe was also so lovely and served the perfect post-hike dinner. Would absolutely come back and recommend to anyone.
