These Terms and Conditions regulate your reservation and stay at BigBlue Hostel, located in Taghazout, Morocco (hereinafter referred to as "the Establishment"). By confirming a reservation, the guest expressly accepts and agrees to fully comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their reservation free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled date of arrival. Should cancellation occur within 48 hours prior to arrival (late cancellation), or in the event of non-arrival (no-show), the guest will incur a penalty equivalent to the full amount of the reserved stay, without exception.
2. Reservation Guarantee
In order to secure and validate a reservation, guests are required to provide the CVV code associated with the credit or debit card used for booking, clearly referencing their reservation number. Failure to communicate the required CVV code within 24 hours after making an online booking will result in automatic cancellation without further notice or recourse by the guest.
3. Check-In and Check-Out Procedures
Check-in: Available from 2:00 PM (14:00) until midnight (00:00).
Check-out: Mandatory by 11:00 AM on the scheduled departure day.
Late Check-Out: Guests departing later than the stated check-out time will be charged a fixed late fee of €20 for delays of up to two hours (until 1:00 PM). Beyond this two-hour period, clause 3.1 will be enforced.
3.1 Excessive Delay at Check-Out (Beyond 2 Hours)
In cases where guests exceed the check-out time by more than two (2) hours (after 1:00 PM) and remain unreachable by telephone, the Establishment expressly reserves the right to promptly remove, securely store guests’ personal belongings, and reallocate the room to incoming guests. Such action will result in an additional penalty charge of €50. The Establishment disclaims liability for any inconvenience or loss arising from enforcing this policy.
4. Payment Terms and Currency Exchange
Applicable Exchange Rate: All transactions involving currency conversion between Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) and Euros (EUR) will be based exclusively on a fixed exchange rate of MAD 11.00 per EUR 1.00, corresponding to the median annual mid-market exchange rate published by Bank Al-Maghrib (Central Bank of Morocco).
Card Payment Transaction Fee: Payments via credit or debit cards will incur an additional processing fee of 5% of the total amount payable.
Additional Bank Fees: Guests acknowledge that any supplementary fees, currency exchange charges, or related costs levied by their financial institution are beyond the control of the Establishment and are solely the guest’s responsibility. To avoid potential additional charges, guests are strongly advised to carry sufficient cash in Euros (€).
Accepted Payment Methods: Payment at check-in may be made by:
Cash (Euros or Moroccan Dirhams)
Credit or debit card
Bank transfer (only if arranged and confirmed prior to arrival)
Card Pre-Authorization: The Establishment expressly reserves the right to pre-authorize the credit or debit card provided at booking to secure the reservation prior to guest arrival.
5. Taxes and Additional Services
Taxes: All applicable local taxes are included within the advertised rates.
Meals: Not included; available for additional charge.
Coworking Space: Not included; available for separate purchase.
Hammam (Steam Room): Not included; available at an additional charge.
Activities and Excursions: Not included unless explicitly specified in the booked guest packages. Guests may purchase these separately.
6. General Terms and House Policies
Reception Hours: The reception desk operates daily from 08:00 AM to 06:00 PM for guest assistance and arrivals.
Late Check-In: Guests arriving after regular reception hours may be accommodated by our security personnel until 03:00 AM. Late arrivals must inform the Establishment in advance using the 24/7 WhatsApp contact number provided upon booking to ensure appropriate arrangements.
Curfew Policy: A curfew is enforced at 03:00 AM. Guests anticipating returning later must notify the Establishment beforehand via the provided WhatsApp contact. Non-compliance may result in restricted access to the property for security reasons.
Accommodation for Muslim Couples: Pursuant to Article 490 of the Moroccan Penal Code, Muslim couples are required to present a valid marriage certificate ("Acte de Mariage") at the time of check-in. Failure to comply will result in refusal of accommodation, without entitlement to refund, compensation, or recourse against the Establishment.
Package Guests: Guests who have booked designated package offers will benefit from specific inclusive activities and excursions as explicitly detailed on the Establishment’s official website (www.bigbluehostel.com). Any additional activities or services outside the specified inclusions must be purchased separately.
7. Organisation of Extras and Additional Services
The Establishment offers guests access to various optional ancillary services (“Extras”),including but not limited to excursions, surf lessons, yoga sessions, surfequipment rental, coworking space access, communal meals, laundry services, and access to the hammam (steam room). These services are not included in the standard accommodation rate unless expressly stipulated in the guest's booking or package and are governed by the following conditions, which form an integral part of the contractual relationship between the guest and the Establishment:
7.1 Activities and Excursions
Participation in excursions and outdoor activities organised or coordinated by the Establishment is subject to:· Completion and submission of a mandatory subscription form;· Full payment in advance prior to participation;· Strict compliance with scheduled meeting times and all operational or safety instructions provided by the Establishment or its designated agents. Failure to comply with any of the above may result in denial of access to the activity without a refund. The Establishment disclaims liability for late arrivals or non-compliance by the guest.
7.2 Surf Lessons
Surf lessons are organised either directly by the Establishment or in partnership with certified surf instructors or affiliated surf schools.
The following conditions apply:
* Lessons must be booked and paid in advance.
* Guests must complete a subscription and waiver form acknowledging associated physical risks;·
* Punctuality is required; instructors may deny participation to late arrivals without refund.
* Guests must comply with safety briefings and instructor instructions at all times.
The Establishment is not liable for personal injury, damage, or loss resulting from participation insurf lessons or failure to follow surf safety protocols.
7.3 Yoga Sessions (External Providers)
Yoga sessions are facilitated through trusted third-party providers. By enrolling, the guest agrees to:·
* Advanced reservation and payment through the Establishment;
* Completion of a registration form and waiver;
* Adherence to designated schedules and instructor guidelines.
As these sessions are operated by independent contractors, the Establishment is not liable for injury, dissatisfaction, or service failure arising from participation. Any claims must be directed to the external provider.
7.4 Surf Equipment Rental
Guests renting surfboards, wetsuits, leashes, or any related gear agree to the following terms:·
* A security deposit of €60 (cash only) shall be paid prior to issuance of equipment;·
* The rental fee must be paid in full in advance;
* Equipment must be returned in good, usable condition and within the agreed rental time.
The guest assumes full liability for damage, loss, or misuse of equipment. Costs exceeding the deposit shall be recoverable from the guest, and the Establishment reserves the right to refuse further rentals in cases of abuse or negligence.
7.5 Coworking Space Access
Access to the coworking space is conditional upon:·
* Completion of a registration form and acceptance of the coworking rules;
* Full payment in advance to confirm reservation (subject to availability);
* Maintenance of a quiet, respectful, and collaborative environment.
Access plans include Day Pass, Weekly Pass, and Monthly Pass. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in revocation of access without refund.
7.6 Communal Meals
Guests participating in communal meals must:
* Complete a meal subscription form in advance and pay applicable fees upfront;
* Arrive on time for scheduled meals;
* Participate in communal tasks (e.g., table setup or cleanup);
* Respect portion limits and the group dining environment.
The purpose of communal meals is both nutritional and social; guests who disturb this balance or exhibit inappropriate behavior may be excluded without refund.
7.7 Laundry Service
Laundry service is available upon request, subject to the following:·
* Advance payment is required.
* The Establishment assumes no liability for shrinkage, discolouration, damage, or loss;·
* Delicate or unsorted garments are submitted atthe guest’s sole risk.
7.8 Hammam (Steam Room)
The hammam facility is subject to:·
* Advance booking and payment;
* Respect of time slots, hygiene protocols, and staff instructions;
* Exclusion and financial liability for any misuse, damage, or disturbance.
Access is not guaranteed without prior reservation and is subject to operational availability.
Use of any of the above-mentioned services implies full acceptance of all related policies, forms, waivers, schedules, and behavioural standards. The Establishment reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny access or exclude any guest from any extra service in the event of non-compliance, abuse,or disruptive conduct. No refund or compensation shall be issued under such circumstances.
7.9Transfer Service
Transferservices (including but not limited to airport or bus station pickups) are not included in the standard accommodation rates. Such services must be reserved separately and in advance via our dedicated 24/7 WhatsApp contact number or directly at the reception.To ensure smooth coordination and timely service, guests are required to provide complete travel details—including flight number, arrival time, bus company, station of arrival, and any other relevant information—at the time of the transfer request. Transfer service availability is subject to confirmation by the Establishment and cannot be guaranteed without prior communication of these details. The Establishment shall not be held liable for any delay, missed pickup, or service disruption resulting from incomplete or late transmission of travel information by the guest.
8. Security Deposit (Guarantee Deposit)
A refundable security deposit is required upon check-in to ensure coverage for any potential damages or losses caused by the guest during their stay, structured as follows:
€40 for guests who have booked accommodation only.
€60 for guests who have booked any inclusive package.
This deposit must be paid exclusively in cash at the time of check-in.
The security deposit shall be fully refunded in cash upon departure, contingent on an inspection confirming that no damage, loss, or breach of property rules occurred during the guest’s stay. The Establishment reserves the right to retain part or all of the deposit should damages or breaches of terms be identified.
9. Modification and Administrative Fees
Any request for modification or amendment of a confirmed reservation (including, but not limited to, changes in dates, room type, package type, or guest details) will be subject to an administrative fee of €15per modification and per room. All modification requests are subject to availability and must be communicated to the Establishment via our official communication channels or our 24/7 WhatsApp number or at the reception, with explicit confirmation from the Establishment required.
The Establishment reserves the exclusive right to accept or refuse requested modifications based upon availability or operational constraints. Failure to accept the modification request does not exempt the guest from their original booking conditions, including any applicable charges or penalties as outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
10. Liability and Amendments
The Establishment reserves the unrestricted right to amend, update, or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice. Guests acknowledge that the most recent version of the Terms and Conditions published by the Establishment shall always prevail.
By confirming a reservation, the guest acknowledges full acceptance of and agreement to comply strictly with these Terms and Conditions, as interpreted and enforced solely by BigBlue Hostel.
