Unbeatable location!! Genuinely so close to everything (xmas markets, castle, train station, etc.). Beds are an interesting arrangement of bunks of three and not necessarily the most comfortable and pillow's a little low, but the curtains make up for it! The bathroom was a little dirty on arrival but by the next day it had been thoroughly cleaned which is really lovely. Not the most social hostel per se but if you get good roommates you'll be fine. I'd definitely stay here again :)

Location is fantastic, super central and close to train station, Old town and New town, however the hostel looks nothing like the pictures. Zero cooking facilities apart from a microwave and a small kettle making cooking near impossible. Staying in a 6 bed female dorm on the 4th floor will guarantee the white noise of water leaking through the window frame onto the thoroughly soaked towels sitting on the floor. Accompanied by this is black mould along the window sills and throughout the shower.

Amazing staff and location. Shared spaces were not that clean but the room really was. It was also a comfortable size for the amount of people.

Hostelworld says

St Christopher's Edinburgh is very highly rated here on Hostelworld for its location, and no wonder - it's just off the Royal Mile and across the road from Waverly Train station, making it ideal for those coming to Edinburgh by train from London and elsewhere in Scotland and Northern England. This hostel has friendly staff and bright, clean rooms with under-bed lockers; there's also a popular bar underneath with discounts for residents on food and drink.
