Guests have a range of rooms to choose from such as four bed dormitories, triple, twin, double and single rooms, some with ensuites. Towels, blankets, and sheets are available for hire.

There are modern shared bathroom facilities, a large commercial kitchen, a spacious television room, dining room and even a sun room for guest use. All bedrooms and the main living areas are heated during winter and the cooler months for guest comfort.

Free DVDs, tour desk, WIFI and internet kiosks are also available for the guest's use. Launceston Backpackers also has a large off street car park which is locked each night.

I think it’s a very cute and clean hostel, perfect for stays of five days or more. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that there were only two outlets for charging phones in the room. Other than that, it had a great view and a charming atmosphere. I met three amazing solo female travelers there, and we went out together.

Stayed Dec 2024. Lauceston Backpackers is basic but clean. Nice vibe - mixture of workers and travellers. Only one PowerPoint in the room and blankets - no doona but that was ok as not cold. The bathrooms and toilets are clean and functional as is kitchen. Staff are friendly and tho not always onsite are usually contactable. Great place to stay.

I would never recommend this place. I felt very unsafe here. I checked in late and they just taped an envelope with my key and the door code in it to the front door. Literally anyone could have gotten in using that. also there are a series of back doors which we're left open almost all of the time. the entire time I was there I never saw a staff member. everyone there was super shady and whilst I was staying there someone had their wallet stolen. even the Launy arthouse is better! Avoid this one
