Welcome to Chill Inn Hostel & Beach Cafe!

We're located on a beautiful secluded private beach on the edge of Lamai, roughly 1.5km south of Lamai Beach and 9km south of Chaweng Beach (the biggest party and tourist area on the island).

We've been operating for over 5 years and have more than 2000 genuine reviews on Hostelworld!

We're situated on the main ring road of Samui, so it is an easy drop off point for all transport. It is also close to many of the attractions of the island including waterfalls and many of the nicest viewpoints. There is a water sports center and a few restaurants on the same beach.

We also have free kayaks and paddle boards for you to take out.
We can arrange cars and scooters for our guests to rent and delivery and return is at our door.
Laundry service available too.
Excellent wifi means digital nomads can rely on a solid connection when doing work.

The hostel has great lounge areas for guests to mingle. We feel that an important part of any hostel is providing the guests the opportunity to meet fellow travelers. Our mission is to welcome any and all backpackers and travelers looking to explore the wonderful experiences of Koh Samui and to make sure we play a fundamental part in making it a memorable visit.

The hostel has a beach side bar, lounge area and cafe. Sip a cold beer or cocktail while enjoying the spectacular views. The café serves a mixture of Thai and western cuisine. We offer guests 20% off all cocktails for the duration of your stay.

Chill Inn Hostel & Beach Cafe has 38 beds in our various hostel rooms.
All of our rooms are fully air-conditioned and have fans.
We have a total of 6 showers and 6 toilets for our guests and 2 bathtubs (only in Dorm D & E).

We can organize taxi transfers for our guests to enjoy any part of the Island.
We can also organize trips for you around the island or to your next destination, such as Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Pig Island (Koh Madsum), Angthong National park, and many more.

I was there in Koh Samui for 3 days and decided to stay at Chill Inn Lamai Hostel. First off - the location is amazing. Perfect to just settle down, have a beer and read a book. Though it’s 30-40 mins away from party places like Chaweng - for people looking to stay away from the noise, go for it. There are multiple must visit areas at walking distance from the property - Na Muang Waterfalls, overlap stone, Lamai market, etc. The staff are also very helpful and takes good care of you.

About Koh Samui

As the largest of Thailand’s east-coast islands, Koh Samui has plenty going on. With a mix of shopping areas and wild landscapes, you can have the best of both worlds. Waterfall hunting, marine-park exploring and jungle trekking are just some of the adventures on offer. Or you could just hang out on some of the island’s white-sand beaches, sipping fresh coconut water.

Koh Samui has a few main areas to explore. The most popular is around Chaweng Beach, where you’ll find the liveliest nightlife on the island and a large shopping complex. Towards the north coast is Bophut, the Fisherman’s Village. It retains some of this tropical retreat's traditional heritage with its old Thai-Chinese wooden houses. For a spot of peace and quiet, a stay near the bay at Coral Cove lets you relax on its near-empty white-sand beach.

Travellers come to Koh Samui to party, to explore or both. Treks through the jungle take you to the island’s many waterfalls – take a dip at one of them for a tropical experience to remember. Or you could view the wilderness from above as you whizz down the island’s zip line. The Big Buddha, a 12-metre-tall statue that sits on a small island just off the coast, is worth a visit, as are the intriguing rock formations at Hin Ta and Hin Yai. From the island, you can take a boat trip to Angthong National Marine Park for the spectacular sights of its archipelago and emerald-coloured lagoon.
