Hostel Smolej is a newly renovated property is set in the residential/hostel district of Bled and is in a superb location. It is beside the cliff top castle and only metres away from the lake, St Martins church and the local grocery shop. It is close to the bus station and all the local bars and restaurants. It comprises 3 bedrooms, two kitchens and a luxury shower room.

There are two 3 bed dorms and one four bed dorm with a total capacity for 10 guests. The family run business will offer a true insight into Slovene culture and we know where to locate the most interesting of places depending on your requirements.

Small, clean, quiet hostel. The staff is friendly and the location is good. However, there are no evening activities or a large common area to enjoy. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend the night, this is the right place.

This is a very small hostel, so it's more like a B&B, but with shared rooms. The location is good, I think. Very close to the steps up to the castle, and in a quiet, nice area. Much of Bled was very noisy with plenty of tourists, loud music, and the like. The bed was made already, which is rare for hostels in general, and that I appreciated a lot. Barbara was a great host, very friendly, and ready to provide the information needed to have a good time in Bled. A big plus is that there's a kitchen

We stayed in Hostel Smolej as a family in the 4 bed dorm in August. The hostel is clean and really well situated, but the best thing about it is Barbara, who is a fantastic host. She went well above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, and she’s a font of knowledge on Bled. Thanks Barbara, we had a wonderful stay!
