About

The name of the place Dahlandia refers to Professor George Dahl, a Swedish scientist and expeditionary who was in Colombia in the 60's and made important contributions to the knowledge of the country's biodiversity. My father Fabio Flórez, owner of the place, was a collaborator of Professor Dahl and they published the book: 'Peces del norte de Colombia', which you can consult on the island. My name is Carlos Flórez, manager of Dahlandia. I am an ecologist, specialist in Geographic Information Systems with a master's degree in Geography. Since I was a child I have been linked to Múcura Island and I have done some ecology work such as: 'Ecological characterization of the Múcura and Tintipán Islands'.

Currently I run the Dahlandia Hostel, with the incorporation of sustainability criteria that promotes the conservation of the ecosystems of Isla Múcura. Isla Múcura is an incredible place, with beautiful landscapes and very friendly people willing to show you the most special places on the island and the Archipelago.
