About

Travesía Hotel & Tea is a property owned by a chilote family, born and raised in these lands, whose main characteristic is that the owners themselves work their business.

The property can be accessed just two blocks from the Cruz del Sur Bus Station. The property offers panoramic postcard views of the sunset with the full backdrop of the sea over Ancud Bay from all its rooms.

The establishment has been completely built by Chilote hands and with a unique Chilote style using Oregon pine wood and other noble woods from the area. It includes a tea room for pastry and local food orders (with prior reservations). We offer free Wi-Fi throughout the property, laundry service, bike rentals, and scheduled excursions (additional charges apply).

We had a bad experience at Travesia Hostel. The owner overcharged us when we arrived and was adamant we didn’t understand the pricing on Hostelworld - but he definitely knew what he was doing. So not only was it overpriced, but also an uncomfortable couple of days given he’d basically ripped us off. The private rooms are okay but don’t have any hot water at all and we were only told this after we’d paid, we ended up having to use the communal showers downstairs. Breakfast is meagre.

such a beautiful and cosy place to stay, you can see the sea from the dorm and look out onto the sea when you have your breakfast. the breakfast included is delicious and filling and the atmosphere very homey. the host, Roberto, and his family are very kind and welcoming and make you feel very comfortable

A fantastic place to relax, with a beautiful, very well-decorated wooden interior and sweeping views of the bay. Located very close to the Cruz Del Sur bus terminal & all the fun on the west side of Ancud.
