Hostel Sereia do Mar

Our general experience at this hostel was not good. The atmosphere was really bad, worse if you don’t speak Spanish/Portuguese. It’s basically a bed and breakfast/restaurant, not a hostel. The mosquitoes are everywhere because of bad sanitation conditions - and it’s dirty. The location is not that good either, it’s a 30 minutes walk from the bus terminal in Paraty. The beach is okay, really not that impressive. The only positive thing about this place is the ocean view and the beach area.

Great little hostel in paraty. Friendly staff and decent facilities. A slight walk to the main historic centre but nothing too crazy. Would definitely recommend

Location was great and enjoyed the free breakfast a lot but unfortunately we had to leave after one night. The room smelt like pee and had little to no storage to put our things away. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the air conditioner made a terrible smell. Was overall a very damp and smelly room and unpleasant night that we spent there. We ended up moving to a guesthouse which wasn’t much more expensive and definitely worth it.
