Good things: facilities - we stayed in a self contained cabin with a working oven, microwave etc, friendly staff, beautiful and convenient location Not so good things: we weren’t given a key so there was no way of locking the room from inside or out. We were also charged the balance in advance, even though the advert said payment on arrival. The trees are very overgrown so very little sunlight gets through to the rooms.

Really great hostel, really good stop on my NZ road trip! Really lovely owner, had a lovely chat with him when checking in. Super out of the way with beautiful views, only things were there was no Internet and no key for the part I stayed in (door left unlocked) both I assume because of how out the way it is. Would absolutely stay here again and would recommend especially if you're looking for a quiet getaway with no distractions etc!!
