Che Lagarto Hostel Ilha Grande

The hostel is in a very popular bar so if you are staying there you won’t get any sleep till after 1am because there’s a band on and then a DJ. Otherwise the bar itself is fun. Reception isn’t 24hrs so if you have any issues you have no one to talk to because the bar staff is separate to the hostel. They keep it clean but the facilities are very dated so I think it’s too overpriced for what you get. Nice location on the beach though!

This hostel was very poor. We felt very unwelcome by the staff. The location was at the far end of the beach and was very tiring to get there with large bags. It is the only bar which stays open late in Ilha Grande and it seems as though this is the only thing the staff care about. No facilities including no fridge with rude signs saying to not use anything. Lack of cleaning and sand everywhere. Definition so many better hostels

This property was okay. They have a Nice bar. Did not feel like it was the best place to socialize even though it is a PARTY HOSTEL.. Music plays until around 1 am and then continues at the neighbor hostel… feels like This place cares more about the bar and party than actual guest and hostel. No place to really be or relax only party.. did have one incident with some rude staff, nothing major But could Have been handled differently. Breakfast ok..
