Over

**Architecture:** The guesthouse adopts natural, traditional construction methods using rammed earth and solid wood. The interior design and materials aim to minimize or avoid the use of formaldehyde, paints, and other quick-fix materials, adhering to a healthy and eco-friendly concept. The design includes large dual-direction windows for natural ventilation, eliminating the need for air conditioning in summer, while maintaining room temperatures between 18-24°C, promoting an environmentally friendly and healthy atmosphere. In winter, the building is equipped with wrap-around wall heating, maintaining indoor temperatures between 16-22°C with hidden, radiation-free heat distribution. The building features effective soundproofing with triple-layer flooring, thick rammed earth walls, and double-layer UV-resistant glass windows. The guesthouse is scheduled for a soft opening in June 2024.

**Bathroom:** The bathrooms feature separate wet and dry areas, accessible toilets, smart toilets, and 24-hour hot water.

**Daily Essentials:** The guesthouse strongly advocates for a low-waste, sustainable approach by minimizing or eliminating disposable items. Towels and slippers are sterilized in dedicated disinfecting cabinets (one per room), while toiletries are 100% natural, handmade, and fully biodegradable within 24 hours.

**Location:** The guesthouse is located in Shaping Village, Shaxi Town, 2 km from the ancient town and at the foot of the Shadengqing Grottoes. Free transport to and from the ancient town (within the Shaxi area) is available via bicycles (about 15 minutes), a 25-minute walk, or a 10-minute shuttle (available anytime before 11:30 PM with unlimited trips).

**Dining:** The guesthouse offers customized Chinese and Western-style breakfasts, including homemade bread and jams, along with afternoon tea and snacks. The private kitchen serves fresh, seasonal Chinese and Western dishes, avoiding heavy oil or additives, promoting a healthy, green diet.

**Scenery & Public Areas:** Each room offers natural views of mountains, fields, or the village. Shared spaces include a study, fireplace, dining room, courtyard, garden, and parking area.

**Travel, Services, and Other Amenities:** Guests are offered free bicycles and shuttle services within the Shaxi area. A private guide is available for outdoor activities, hiking, camping, and nature-based travel experiences, focusing on avoiding crowded tourist spots.

**The Story of the Guesthouse Owner:** Dahua, an ethnic Bai and local to Shaxi, has been managing guesthouses since 2007. His first venture was the Laoma Inn, which he successfully operated for ten years, earning accolades such as the Dali Prefecture Star-rated Boutique Guesthouse and ranking among the top three Shaxi inns on TripAdvisor. From 2017 to 2023, he founded and operated Dian Court Guesthouse, which earned top ratings on Booking.com for the Shaxi area and was listed in France’s 'Oriental Museum Magazine Directory.' Dahua also brings over ten years of experience as an outdoor and travel guide, specializing in hiking, camping, and nature-based travel.
