This place was okay. The area felt safe but was also quiet with no much to do. The hostel had no vibe and I didn’t meet anyone there. The kitchen was poor with not even a kettle or toaster, very disappointing to not have even these basics. The biggest problem was the mosquitos, the garden of the hostel is a flooded swamp which is a breeding ground for mosquitos, every time I opened my window 15 mosquitos would fly in as there is no bug screen provided, big dengue risk.

Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Great location. Everyone is very social and chatty, this is one of the best hostels we stayed in during our time in Brazil.

Our short stay at Social Hostel was good. The room was incredibly basic with no air conditioning but it did have a fan. Some of the social areas were good whilst others could do with some improvements. Staff were great as was the outdoor bar area. It’s in a good location and it felt very safe.
