Hyve Hostel Basel

A great hostel! Clean overall, service-minded staff, close to the train station and so on. A plus is that when I arrived, I had booked a mixed dorm, but they changed it to a female dorm because I would be the only female in the mixed dorm - that’s service!

The communal areas are modern and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, dorms are basic, with squeaky beds and average cleanliness. The atmosphere is subdued, making it less ideal for those seeking a lively vibe. Noise from nearby roads can be an issue. Best for short stays

The room itself was clean. My major issue was the level of noise that easily travelled. I could easily hear both the rooms to either side of me, and also people downstairs on the ground floor that were hanging out past 11pm and being extremely loud and noisy. It was hard for me to sleep without earplugs!!!
