Excellent, affordable place to stay. Externally clean, excellent free breakfast, and convenient location in Zermatt. The only downside is that it is quite the hike/flights of stairs to get to the buildings.

I paid extra for a female only room, yet was put in a room with a man. If the front desk hadn’t been closed I would have just asked reception to be moved that night, but it was after hours. I let reception know at check out and they didn’t even offer to refund the difference, which I thought would be the least they could do. Why offer these types of rooms if people can’t even trust that they will get it despite paying an increased fee? I wouldn’t have booked if the female room wasn’t free.

Average hostel. Friendly front desk, however, check-in isn't until 4pm. There are 4 floors above the ground floor and no elevator, so expect stairs to your room. There are stairs to get to the hostel, but those are to be expected in a mountain town. The energy in the hostel seemed serious and not overly social. The bathroom had a pretty strong odor. Breakfast was nice and the eating area was large. The location is beautiful. Prices were a bit high. The shower times out after 10 seconds.
