I had a great time at Baan Kai! The hostel had a chill yet social ambiance. The host is so kind and helpful. The shared space upstairs is perfect to get ready all together and the outside one is great to predrink. It is located in the middle of the island so renting a scooter is much cheaper than using the shared taxis (200baht one way to get to Haad Rin or the main pier). The restaurant close by is good price value and the 7eleven is 1min walk. Stongly recommend this hostel, you’ll not regret!

One of my favourite hostels in 5 months of travelling. Lovely place with a great atmosphere. The owner was really nice, helpful with taxis, recommendations, tickets etc and also set up neon painting before the full moon party which was great, especially for solo travellers. The coffee shop in the reception is also amazing! I would highly recommend :)

Absolutely loved our stay at Baan Kai! Nuum could not be a better host, so kind and helpful (and he makes amazing coffee). The hostel is clean, comfy, great facilities and had free neon paint for full moon! It’s not a huge place but we found this made it much more sociable. It’s a little way out from main town areas but no more than 5-10 minutes if you have a scooter, and it’s very close to some nice beaches, restaurants and a 7-11. Will 100% stay again when back on Koh Phangan!
