One of the best hostels I ever stayed in terms of quality of the facilities (bedrooms, toilets, showers, etc), also great atmosphere, beautiful and comfy common areas to hangout with other travelers, nice little bar at the garden and the place very clean!! My only problem was with some of the staff. While some were really nice and friendly, the two girls working at the reception had a TERRIBLE attitude. It felt that like I was annoying them just by asking questions or asking for a favor.

Second time I stayed here. Amazing facilities, great location, huge showers, spacious dorms, bug lockers, solid curtains, delicious bfast included! The only con is the lack pf that typical "backpacker vibe". Common area and rooftop bar too "formal". And no washers and dryers available. But met all sorts of travelers here and had amazing nights of sleep! Still highly recommend!

Pros. Clean, good showers and toilets, solid beds, comfy mattress, bed curtains, AC. Cons: It lacked atmosphere, patio not as nice as shown in the pics, but my major complaint is that I arrived at the hostel at 13:00 and they didn't let me check in even though the hostel was absolutely empty!! It was just me and another guest staying at the 8-bed dorm, but somehow I still had to wait until 14:00hs to check in (had to leave my bag at the lobby and the entrance door was always open).

If You Want Hostel Sukhothai, Sukhothai, Thailand

Great hostel in New Sukhothai! Pros: Confy beds, good showers, location (walking distance from bus station and right at the Saturday Market Street), polite staff (although not great English), big lockers in the room, bed curtains. Cons: Coffee shop was closed during the whole time, staff could be more knowledgeable about Sukhothai, bed curtains almost didn't block any light (by 6am the room was super light and was hard to sleep after that), poor breakfast. Still would stay again.

In a nutshell: Owners Amazing! Common Areas perfectly designed and comfortable! Bedrooms are nice with AC and bed curtains but biggers lockers would be better. Bathrooms kind of poor (my only real complaint). Wished they took the same care of the bathrooms as they clearly took from the rest of the hostel. Good location and free bikes for rental! Super chill with a beautiful garden/patio. Coffee, Tea and water available 24/7. Friendly cat looking for some snuggles! Amazing little place!

What a friendly couple runnin this place!! Location is perfect! The big dorm is amazing! Huge and comfortable beds with curtains, reading light, etc. Big lockers, clean bathrooms and a basic bfast provided. It does lack atmosphere. The owners could convert the lobby area into something more cousy for the guests. Maybe allow them to have a drink there as well. I was by myself at the big dorm but still enjoyed my stay (the owners were so apologetic about it, it broke my heart). Still recommended!

Cool design, nice indoor chill area, good coffee, very clean and overall comfy beds! But here are some suggestions. 1. replace the bed white curtains for dark ones that actually blocks the lights (the current ones are useless). 2. Change the tables outside for proper patio furniture where people can sit down and relax. 3. Increase the indoor chill area using the space you have for the souvenir shop (honestly I don't think Ive seen a single customer there). There is a lot of potential here!!

If you want comfort, good nights of sleep, but still want to be close to Khao Sam and other attractions in Bangkok, this is the place to be! High-end hostel, with amazing facilities (rooms perfectly designed, beds with curtains, power sockets, etc), extremely clean, friendly and polite staff, and an amazing view from the rooftop bar. It lacks a more chill and comfy common area to hangout with other travelers, but managed to meet some nice people regardless. Highly recommended!!

Stayed 3 nights at the hostel and really recommend the place. The dorm with the cubes were super nice! Good AC, big lockers, spacious cubes, but the mattress could've been better (not a big deal). The hostel is a little run-down. It needs some love! (Example: sinks falling from the wall, showers not always work, old furniture, need to some paint work, etc). Volunteer staff and owner were super friendly! The place is very nice for chilling, watching a movie, and hanging out at the terrace!

This hostel is amazing! Rooms all designed to address travelers needs (comfy beds, curtains, bug lockers, reading lights, etc), plenty of toilets and showers available. Location is great! Right at the heart of Chinatown (still waling distant to KL Tower, Petronas Towers, etc). 20% discount at the coffee shop and nice bar at the terrace to enjoy a drink! Owner took us in his Kombi VW to this amazing Indian restaurant about 20 minutes away from the Hostel! Best meal I had in KL!!!

The friendly and very helpful staff and the restaurant at the guesthouse is what really makes the difference here. The rooms and the facilities needs some real improvement. No lockers in the dorms and the bunks were very shaky as well. Toilets were ALWAYS socked in water, because there is no separation between shower and toilet. There is a lot of potential for this place, but they need to improve their facilities.

19th Apr 2018

It was a good stay overall. Clean, but very basic facilities. The hostel has two dorms. One has 4 beds and is actually a proper room, and the other is literally a big open area full of bunk beds, together with the "reception", terrace and kitchen. Good location! Although Ipoh is small, so any hostel will be in a good location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. To staff: Make the terrace more comfortable for guests, build a dry wall between the big dorm and the reception area to add privacy.

Overall a good hostel. Pictures a little bit misleading, but the hostel was clean and comfortable. Hot showers and huge toilet/shower stalls. Not a 'party hostel' but located in a very cool street full of bars and coffee shops.Cons: No lockers for backpacks and upper beds had no curtains (staff make sure to install those). Heard people complaining about 'weird bites', which could be either mosquitos or bed bugs (staff please pay attention to that).

One of the best hostels I've stayed in South East Asia. Perfectly designed for backpackers! Spacious dorms, solid beds, comfy mattresses, HUGE lockers! Plenty of toilets and showers. Friendly and very helpful staff (gave me a lot of tips for my trip in Malaysia). Nice movie room and common area. Basic breakfast but it did the job! Mac computers available for the guests and solid wifi. Just a couple of comments to the staff: 1. Please install curtains on the beds. 2. Central AC was VERY cold!

One of the lowest scores I ever gave to a hostel. Location is great if you are a heavy sleeper (loud music from nearby bars until 4am). Staff were not really friendly, giving you a bad attitude when you ask things. They also gave me wrong information about transportation to Bohol (ask somewhere else). Dorm was big in an open area room (no walls and zero privacy). The chill area was nice and the couple of hammocks. Other than that, this hostel brings nothing to the table.

View Property Reply

Why you stay 2 nights in my place? Why you stay an additional night? Because of the budget room rate only? You said, my hostel “brings nothing on the table”. How about the free coffee facility every morning? Or our budget friendly breakfast service with house roasted coffee and homemade bread? Why you not telling to the public that you stay in private single room with balcony and hammock? What shall we do with the owner of the bars in the neighbourhoods? You ask one of my staff, who never been to Bohol, about the travel time for a car ferry from Argao, Cebu to Tagbilaran, Bohol. You been always busy using my internet, have you hear about ask Google? We keep the 12 bed main dorm open to the attached bamboo deck and rooftop. I don’t want a smelly big dorm. And since when has a dorm privacy?

Really tinny hostel but loved the fact you stay in a private "capsule". Comfortable mattress and spacious capsule with a reading light and power outlet. Clean facilities although shower/toilets were very small. Basic bfast included was a plus. No vibe at all since the communal area is inexistent, but location kind of compensates (you can walk pretty much to all spots in Cebu and is walk distant to the van and ferry terminal). Would stay again!!

Stayed in the 16-bed dorm, but it was more comfortable than I expected (except for this group of 8 girls waking up everyone at 5:30am to catch their van to El Nido). The best thing of this hostel is their bar/outdoor area. Great for chilling and chatting with other travelers (met some people and ended up traveling for 2 weeks with them in Palawan). Friendly staff (specially the guys at the bar). Bathrooms could be a little bit cleaner and lockers can be improved. Still would stay again!

Never experienced anything like this hostel/hotel. If you want the most amazing facilities (bed, dorm, bathrooms, etc) this is the place to go!! Very well located in the heart of Makati, friendly staff, extremely clean and the most comfortable bed in the Philippines. The only "negative" point is the lack of that hostel vibe that you would expect, but this is a different type of place. Although they are opening a rooftop bar which will definitely improve that! Highly recommended!!

Pros: Amazing rooms with solid wooden beds, comfy mattress, curtains, and power plug. Nice outdoor patio area with tables, etc. Very clean bathrooms. Manager was very friendly (not so much the rest of the staff). Cons: Breakfast just runs from 7:30 to 8:30am. 3rd Floor Kitchen not appealing at all, a little bit dirty and no cooking utensils at all. No indoor communal area to hangout during rainy days. I was the only non-Korean during 4 days I've stayed there (although I was there during winter).

Charming little hostel literally just 5 min walking from Busan Station!! Pros: Amazing and helpful owner, comfortable beds, small but nice communal area (the 'hidden' second floor is really nice to chill and relax), overall very clean facilities, equipped kitchen and location!! EXTREMELY clean, comfy beds, big kitchen, lots of utensils, huge communal areas to hangout incl. rooftop garden, very friendly and caring staff, good breakfast incl. coffee, tea, juices, bread, eggs, butter, and jam. The only areas that they could improve are: 1. include curtains on upper beds (just lower beds have) 2. Bigger lockers (couldn't fit a 65lt backpack) and 3. Shower privacy (3 showers in a single open room). Still highly recommend!!

The owners spent time to design this little and functional hostel. Pros: location, extremely clean, amazing beds with curtains, reading light, two power outlets and spacious lockers, functional common area, free breakfast (bread, cereal, orange juice, coffee, butter, jam, etc), easy to meet people since everyone are basically on the same area, and amazing host!!! Cons: Not really a con but since all rooms face the common area you might hear some noise until 11pm when they close the reception.

Pros: Spacious dorms, solid and comfy beds with curtains and reading lights, big lockers, extremely clean, lots of bathrooms, very good location (3 min walking from the metro station), free breakfast, nice common area with sofas, and great to meet people. Cons: I guess if you are staying in a dorm on the ground floor close to the common area might be an issue if you want to sleep early, other that great place to stay in Seoul!!

Pros: Location! Cons: I spent just one night during Chinese New Year's and paying $50 for a packed 10-bed dorm wasn't the best deal. Rooms were too small for the number of beds they put in there and there was no lockers for backpacks (just a small safe for your wallet, passport, phone, etc). Bathrooms were not dirty, but could've been way better if people didn't leave all their dirty clothes, towels, hair dryers, toothpaste, everywhere there (staff didn't seem to care at all). Needs improvement!

Pros: Amazing location, spacious dorms, solid beds with curtains (not shaky at all), good ensuite bathroom and shower, very clean, and 3 different areas to hangout, chill, drink and meet other travelers (one being a huge rooftop). Good location (about 10-15 min from metro) and about 15-20 minutes to the Lake. Room was spacious, bed was comfy, and bathrooms were always clean (if they put curtains on the beds would be perfect). They have a coffee shop attached to the hostel, which is great to meet other people (although 90% of the people there were Chinese). Some of the staff had difficulties to deal with foreigners. And they need to improve their laundry services (paid $6 and got my clothes back a little wet and "smelly").

The hostel is located right in front of Huangshan Railway Station and about 30 minutes from the North Station (cost only 2 yuan a bus ticket). Not a lot of action going on at the Hostel, but I was there during the winter (low season). The common area is nice (couches, pool table, etc) but it was very cold during winter. Rooms were spacious with private bunk beds (curtains, reading light, power outlet, etc). Chen (the owner) is extremely friendly and he helped me to book the dorm at the Mountain.

A little bit off the main attractions in Shanghai but literally 1 minute walking to the Metro Station. Lots of cheap places to eat on the street and good grocery stores nearby. Best "Hostel vibe" during my stay in China. Rec room well furnished with couches, pool table, and it was great to meet other travelers. Good wifi signal and the 6-bed dorm was very spacious with very solid wooden beds.Bathrooms were very clean and there were plenty of showers available. Helpful staff! Totally recommend!

Great common area, with a 24/7 bar/coffee/restaurant/reception. Dorm was a little bit small but with comfy beds. No individual power outlet for each bed (had to share the outlet with other people in the room). Lockers were too small for a bag or a backpack, it was more like a safe box for your high-value items (computer, documents, money, etc). Clean bathrooms and good hot showers! Bar/Coffee in the hostel although nothing was really going on when I was there. Great location, close to many shops, restaurants, etc and walking distance from the Forbidden City.

Amazing location, chill "surfer" vibe and great facilities!! Stayed only one night, but most of the people were there for days and weeks mainly due to the surf lessons they provide. Great facilities, solid and confy wooden beds, nice kitchen, and nice common areas to hangout (chill TV room and backyard patio). Lot of young backpackers, but not a really party hostel at the same time (guess people were just tired after long days of surfing). The bathrooms could definitely be improve!!

Majority of the people that I talked to stayed at the hostel mainly due to the Yoga sessions they provide (it wasn't my case, but I still enjoyed my staying). Beautiful hostel, with a very peaceful vibe. Amazing outdoor area and great facilities overall! The bathrooms, although not bad, can be improved (my only real complaint). Not very close to Cascais city center, about 25-30 min walking, but is definitely "walkable" or you can take an Uber for ~4-5 euros. Still highly recommended!!

I've stayed in a couple hundred hostels and this one is definitely on my Top 15! AMAZING location, friendly and helpful staff, great dorms with big and private solid wood bunk beds (with a personal plug and reading light), and clean bathrooms and facilities. Beautiful deck with lots of chairs and sofas to chill and meet people, and good deals organized by the hostel (the Hostel dinner is a great deal!). Located at the heart of Porto, but yet on a fairly quiet street. Highly recommended!!

Hard to say "This is the best hostel", but this one is definitely on the top! Amazing location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, great rooms and bathroom facilities, and lots of fun! The hostel offers a lot of "deals", such as cheap dinners, happy hour drinks, free walking tours, etc. Great to meet people! Confy and spacious beds, and clean facilities! Price might look a little bit over the average, but totally worth it!! Thanks Andres, Joao and all the amazing staff!!

Very good hostel, with a friendly and welcoming staff! Amazing Location, only 10-15 min walk from the Historic Downtown. Good facility although it lacks a little bit of character (it's more like a 4 store apartment building, converted into a hostel). Every room has its own bathroom which is very helpful! The common area is nice but a little bit small, although great for meeting people, relaxing and having a beer or coffee.

Located 10-15 minutes away from the French Quarter but right beside Magazine Street (a beautiful area with amazing colonial houses and cool bars and shops). Bedroom was spacious but the mattress was horrible (I usually have no issues at all, just check my other reviews). The patio is nice and a good to meet people. Facilities in general were ok, but maybe repainting the walls, changing a couple of sofas, revamping the bathrooms would improve things a lot!!

American Dream Hostel, New York, USA

I would say that American Dream is a great option if you just want a clean and nice place to take a good shower and crash after a long day exploring NYC. Not a party hostel or a place to meet a lot of people, but you will see some people around. Stayed in two different rooms and both were clean, had good beds, sheets and towels provided. Lots of buildings in NYC are old, so just take that in consideration. Location is great, very close to 2-3 different metro lines. Great option in general!!

I would say that American Dream is a very good place to be if you just want a clean and nice place to take a shower and crash after a long day exploring NYC. I can only comment about location and cleanliness, since I barely spent any time at the hostel. The rooms are clean, with good beds, sheets and towels provided. They definitely put some money to renovate the toilets and showers, which were very good in my opinion. Definitely the place to be if you are on a tight budget!!

Had a great time during my stay at Yo-Ho-Hostel! Easy to find and very well located in Varna, just 10-15 minutes away from the beach and bars area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful!! The hostel has a good vibe and a cool decoration.. very pleasant to stay there meeting people, drinking, etc. With the exception of the bathrooms, the facilities are very nice! Stayed only 1 night at Humblefootprints, in a 4-bed dorm. You can definitely see that these guys invested some money to put this place together. High quality hostel, with some good and spacious dorms, brand new beds, AC, lockers, etc. Common room with some computers and good internet for Myanmar standards.. you can definitely meet people here, but don't expect a party hostel. Great hostel if you are looking for a more agitated crowd in Nha Trang!! Good facilities, with clean bathrooms and rooms. Stayed in a private 2 bed room at the 3rd floor. They don't have elevators, so you need to be a little bit prepared if you get a room in one of the top floors. Nice bar with decent prices, and good staff to help you to book your day trips, bus tickets, etc. Good Wi-Fi and computers available. Laundry services were also very helpful! You can't go wrong!

If you compare with the south, of course the beach won't be so nice, but if you want to enjoy Colombo for one day or two, I would definitely stay in Mt Lavinia and Tropic Inn.
