Great location near a Skybus stop. Attracted a fairly rowdy crowd and outdoors was very loud too. Would recommend for an overnight from AKL airport, but not for many nights. Elevator was whack too

Hey thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! We generally don't consider ourselves a party hostel and like to have a more relaxed and chilled vibe. We close down the kitchen and outside area down at 11pm to try and keep noise to a minimum and encourage guests to go out and enjoy the city. Due to our awesome location in the city, unfortunately it can sometime get a bit noisy outside. You can get ear plugs at reception if you need to :) We hope you have a great time in NZ! The Attic Team :)

Jailhouse Accommodation Christchurch, Christchurch, New Zealand

Security lockers cost $2, so I didn’t use them. Being in a jailhouse is a nice gimmick but aside from the main hallway it doesn’t really show. Has the advantage that all the rooms are small, so you’ll have fewer roommates. Has coffee for $4 in the morning. Ran out of parking my second night. Overall a comfortable stay

No security lockers and anyone can access the greater building at all hours. Although, being in a small touristy village, this admittedly isn’t much of a problem. Upper bunk Bed frames creak enormously. Wifi is $5 per day. But location is fantastic and max 4 ppl to a room is great for maximizing rest before hikes the next day. Bar area and restaurant has a nice view as well. Great for the cost

Low security score for lack of lockers and presence of a random group of campers who somehow made it into the lobby at midnight. Upper bunks aren’t that easy to climb up to. Otherwise, this hostel was excellent in all other respects. Close to everything, informative staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, and community kitchen. Especially helpful describing the parking situation.

Hi there, thank you for taking time to leave us a review. We do take our security very seriously, and no one can access the hostel without a key after hours. We apologise for this incident with the 'campers' and we will look into this. The only way they could have come into the hostel would be if a guest had let them in, and we do have a after hours manager on duty to prevent incidents like this. In regards to the lockers we have one per person, these are located on the 1st and second floor for the guests who do not have lockers in their rooms. We are sorry if you did not realise this. Thank you for you feedback on beds as well, we will be changing the ladders to make them easier to climb. We're very glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope you had a great time on the rest of your travels!

Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers, Te Anau, New Zealand

Great location on the lakefront and near food. Staff was efficient and knowledgeable. I’d caution against arriving too long after reception closes at 8 pm; when I left in the morning I met a man with a booking who had been unable to get the key to his room, and slept outside. The upper bunk beds have no railing facing the ground... not good if you move in your sleep. No sign of security lockers, but I haven’t seen them in any NZ hostel yet

A little pricy, like I've found all US hostels to be. However, this property more than makes up for that with its wonderfully helpful staff, and fairly social atmosphere. The workspaces here are a lot more hospitable than those in other hostels that I've been in, and cleanliness too is at a much higher standard. I found the mattress to be quite inflexible and lumpy, sort of like a college dorm room. Thankfully, the heating was good. Given location, I would definitely stay here again in PDX.

I couldn’t figure out how to use the lockers; otherwise the place was comfortable, clean, and the staff was nice personalities and informative. Right next to Munich HBF so extremely convenient to get anywhere. One of my favorite European hostels

Quite expensive at $34 a night, but maybe that's par for the course for hostels in the United States. Nicely situated on the O'Hare Airport subway line; you can get downtown in a few minutes on this same line. Has a breakfast, which is appreciated. Didn't see anyone using the common area, but it looked nice for either small or large groups. Towels provided and showers are quite nice. Has a few rules to keep in mind, but nothing drastic, just general ediquate.

Great location, near late-night food in Chinatown and a Ya Kun Kaya Toast for breakfast, near the well-positioned Chinatown MRT station. Toilets and showers were nearby, so sometimes water spilled into the toilet areas. Everything (including personal lockers) was operated by card, which was nice. Pleasant for a 1-night stay.

Security is rather lax... there are no keys for individual rooms, so nothing to prevent someone from just walking into the hostel (during open hours) and going into someone else's room. Also, the storage compartments are rather small and so you can really only keep individual valuables there, not an entire bag. Close to Tokyo Narita but not much else. Great lobby, free drink each night, good for meeting other travelers. Extremely clean and staff is very helpful with anything.

Lockers were all the way in the bed area, very secure. Showers were amazing. You have to wear slippers indoors. Free drink each night at the bar. That's the only gathering place in the hostel, but seemed pretty social the whole time that I was there. 10-minute walk from the Hibiya line and ~25min from Ueno station. Good location if you're staying a night between Narita flights but no much else. I don't mind transit times tho, so it was perfect for me.

Located in upper old town, within a mile of just about everything worth seeing in Quebec City. Does not provide soap/shampoo like some other hostels I've been to, so plan for that. Beds are also smaller than most, but no less comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Room and bathrooms were clean as they needed to be. Lacks air conditioning, but all Quebec City hostels probably do. Get breakfast at Paillard instead of here.

Very nice to not have bunk beds in the hostel dorm room! Showers have reliable hot water, bathrooms are bearable (and great by Chinese standards lmao). At the intersection of Metro lines 1 and 2, and 15 minute walk from the Muslim Quarter. Staff very helpful for directions and finding things in the city.

If they knew the hostel layout, a stranger could walk from the street into the common bathrooms, without ever passing the check in desk, that's not ideal. They do clean their bathrooms often, but only during the daylight hours it seems. It's maybe 20 meters from the Luban Road metro entrance, which is great. There's a Yang's Dumpling (MUST TRY) across the busy street after turning left out of the hostel, so that is another bonus for me. Would stay here for 1-night layovers (which is what I did).

They are in the Basement floor of a mall; also there's another Space Inn in the Xinyi district so make sure you go to the right one! The decor here is super modern and kind of quirky, but it doesn't get in the way of anything. Bathrooms and common areas are kept extremely clean. Lots of spaces to socialize in the common area as well, computer terminals, laundry, and food for sale (lots of ppl eating cup ramen!) Card key gives access to everything. Would 100% recommend for a cheap stay in Taipei!

The showerhead is right over the sink, the toilet (in my room) was below the ceiling. Hard concrete walls, looked like an army barracks. For 1 night no shower it was fine; I would not stay here any longer. Staff are among the friendliest I met however!

They provide everything reasonable for accommodation. They do sell bunks on a 2nd floor that you have to take a wooden staircase to get to, which of course will be inconvenient for those of you with large suitcases, so beware of that. Did a good job of keeping warm in cold months. Wasn't a fan of the shower, but c'est la vie. About 1 km to the lake, right next to a touristy food/shopping street so that's a plus.

Location is not great, 25 minute walk from both Salzburg HBF and the closest tourist attraction in old town. It is near Gingl station, so could be good for day trips. Their soap dispensers were either not loaded or too hard for me to figure out. Each dorm did have separate bathroom and shower to themselves though, that was a nice benefit. Don't get their breakfast, you're better off grabbing a coffee and pastry in old town for the same price. Overall, high quality for a hostel, inconvenient loc.

Slightly pricy for a hostel, but well worth the money! Felt almost like a small hotel, with rooms much fewer people and each room having a private bathroom. Extremely clean, warm, and comfortable.
