Staff was incredibly kind and helpful, especially Mario at the front desk. They stored my bags for me while I went to Machu Picchu, which was quite convenient. The breakfast is cold scrambled eggs with bread, fruit, and coffee. I don't get why the eggs are cold when they come out of a chafing dish, but they were all three times that I tried them. Overall a good atmosphere, and not overly noisy. The bathroom situation could be better, with more bathrooms with showers.

Love this hostel. It's like staying at a family member's house. Six bed dorm room was spacious. Hostel has good sized lockers. Definitely a chill, hanging out vibe here. Definitely not a party hostel (which I like). Shower had plenty of hot water. Just a ten minute or so walk to the town center. Feels very safe in the neighborhood, even late at night. Tiendas, laundry, pharmacy, restaurants all close by. Would definitely stay again.

Overall a decent hostel, although things were heading downhill on my last day. The woman who cooked breakfast quit, the showers weren't hot anymore, and the stove in the kitchen ran out of fuel, so then the volunteers there couldn't even cook the breakfasts. The dorm room was really crowded. Location was good, on the edge of the city, with everything easily walkable. I would stay here again if they fixed some of the issues.

Good hostel overall, albeit in a dangerous neighborhood. Many incidents of robbery just outside the hostel as well as in the immediate area. I definitely don't feel safe walking around outside alone after dark there. Fortunately they offer good dinners for a good price, and the vibe of the hostel is very social. Staff is nice and helpful. Some dorms and beds could use some TLC.

Great hostel! One of my favorites after traveling for months. The owners and workers are really nice and helpful, the hostel is in a great part of the city, and the hostel is very secure. Everything was very clean, and my private room was very spacious. I would definitely stay here again!

Solid hostel. Really hot water in the showers, rubber boots for rent for muddy treks, great location, and overall good staff. At times the wifi didn't function for me, and the rooms can be a bit noisy due to their proximity to the street.

Hostel was very overrated in my opinion. The dorm room i was in was cramped, and without AC was hot at night on the top bunk. The open window provided some relief, but there was a large dog next door that barked frequently and was extremely annoying/made it hard to sleep. The bathrooms have tiny bins for TP so they would always be overflowing in the morning with soiled TP. Gross. The rooms could have been much cleaner, a stray piece of dental floss was on the floor my entire stay.

The Dreamer Hostel, Santa Marta, Colombia

My only complaint for this hostel is the beds - they're old and make a lot of noise when someone is climbing to the top bunk. Otherwise the aircon was great, the staff excellent, the facilities top notch and clean. The hostel is close to a huge Exito store and shopping center. It's a short taxi ride into the Santa Marta city center. Would definitely stay here again or at another dreamer hostel.

I enjoyed the hostel overall. The air conditioning in our room worked well, which is essential for sleeping well at night here. The location was great, close to the beach, close to bars and restaurants and clubs. The room was rather loud at night, due to the close proximity to nightclubs in the area.

thank you so much for your review. sorry about the clubs, noise is being paid attention to by local authorities, and that will help. Thank you again and don't forget to recommend us!

El Machico Hostel, Panama City, Panama

located in the banking district of Panama City, this is a nice little hostel. There is a good sized pool to cool off in. Laundry service is reasonably priced, and the staff is mostly friendly. Breakfast was weird - cold pancakes with chocolate syrup (instead of normal pancake syrup). Same breakfast every day.

To Luna's credit, the woman working the front desk put me into a private room without charging extra, which was nice. The location of the hostel is great, and seems secure as well.

Very interesting hostel. Used to be a private residence, now it's been a hostel for less than a year. The staff is super friendly, the facilities nice, and the food is great too! Loved the family style dinners at night. The location is a bit from central boquete, but the scenery is beautiful.

The pool area could use some attention. Much of the hostel seemed like it needed some work - floorboards rotting out in some areas, broken pool chairs, etc. The location was less than ideal - pretty much in the middle of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Meaning a dangerous walk to either area, or waiting for the bus/calling a taxi.

One of my favorite hostels in Central America. The staff was so great here! I ended up having to stay a few extra days due to a stomach bug, and the staff made me ginger tea and did other things to help me feel better. Would definitely stay here again.
