I rented 1private room with private bathroom Once Checked in I realized that my room had no A/C , a double bed stacked on bricks to make it seem higher, a bad matress where you can feel the springs and the wood base, a fan which only worked on 1 plug out of 4 in the entire room. The bathroom was dirty and crusty and the toilet is in front of the door so your legs stop you from closing the door to do your business. They don’t give a key to lock your room either! They didn’t want to refund me

Solid little hostel in the centre of a sleepy surf town. Most of the people that stay in Samara and what looks like Mariposas are return travellers which becomes obvious as the vibes are very welcoming. I only stayed a night as I had other plans but I was told I was always welcome to come hang out. I would recommend for any traveler passing through to stay a night and meet the “locals”

The shared room with attached bathroom was adequate and clean with fresh sheets on the bed. To note: only cold water and no curtains on the beds. The location is super close to the beach and many shops and restaurants around. The volunteer staff were all helpful and friendly, and plan group events for guests such as painting night and potlucks. It was very easy to make friends, and there are plenty of hammocks to relax in.
