Hostal Forestal

Third time staying at this hostel and there’s a reason I keep coming back. The beds are comfy, clean and the hostel is in a perfect location to explore Santiago. Free towels and breakfast are an added bonus. They organise events throughout the week if you wish to go out, but they also respect the guests who don’t by keep things quite after 12. Shoutout to Guillermo, Juan and Angie who are so welcoming, friendly and for providing the best hostel experience!

I'm glad I stayed in this hostel for my first time in Chile. I wished I had more time to do all the things they had to offer like the walking tour but the location was great, right by a park with friendly dog walkers, about a 15min stroll from the fernicular to Cerro San Cristobal, right by the metro to go the bus terminal or the shopping mall. Hostal Forestal has a great location and the hostel seemed very nice at first. It took me 2-3 nights into my stay to realize that I wasn’t covered in mosquito bites, but had been sleeping in a bed with bedbugs. I have small, red, itchy bites all over my hands, feet, legs and face. I understand this isn’t necessarily the fault of the hostel, but it’s one of the worst case scenarios while traveling. I was given a new bed in a different room after I reported this to them. No refund was given.
