Hostel Lao is a laid back home away from home. We have 7 unique rooms set around spacious communal areas and our beautiful garden. We try to make the place feel like a relaxed intimate home with a friendly chilled social vibe. So you feel like you are staying with friends. Mates who give the best local info for everything from hiking to wine tours, food to buses and plenty more.
We are located in a busy corner of downtown Mendoza. Central plaza and bus station are just 10 minutes on foot. Public buses to the wine regions leave from opposite the front door. There are all kinds of grocery shops, cafes, restos, bars and much more close by.
We aim to be honest, sustainable, clean, independent, give the best possible service and rooms for a moderate price and maintain our sense of humour.

Stayed at Lao for six nights - clean, comfy, helpful owner and staff. Relaxed feel to the hostel, helped by Sunny and Naomi, resident greeters / dogs.

Had a lovely stay! Beautiful private room but would have also been nice as a solo traveller, lovely garden and the dogs are a bonus! The hostel gave great recommendations and were super helpful when it came to things to do/places to visit etc. Was sad we couldn’t stay longer!

It’s nice but it’s lacking atmosphere as there’s no real reception! We were there for 2 nights and the only interaction we had with anyone from the hostel was over Whattsap which felt quite weird! It felt more like an Airbnb. But the bed was super comfy, air con was nice, there are some nice chill areas and bathrooms really clean so it’s definitely a nice stay!! No hot water in the shower though.
