Located on the south side of Isla del Sol in Yumani community, Hostal de Sol offers accommodations in Isla del Sol. Breakfast is included, and may be taken in the room. Hostal del Sol is located on Isla del Sol island, which is off the coast of Copacabana. Boat ride to the island takes about 2 hours, and the city of La Paz is located approximately a 3 hour drive from Copacabana. Once on the island, guests are encouraged to walk and discover the ruins, there is a 40 minute walk from the hotel to Templo del Sol archaeological ruins. The property is a 5-minute walk on the way to Mirador (view point) where guests can start trekking to the north side of the island.
Rooms here are fitted with a private / Shared bathroom and shower, a desk, bed linen and a magnificent view of Lake Titicaca.

Lovely hostel that does feel like a homestay. There is a big variety in room types so we had to ask and switch rooms twice to get a room with a shower that we booked. The breakfast was good and the views are unbeatable. The location is quite far from the boat drop off point compared to other hostels, but it is ideally located when you want to explore the northern (and most beautiful) side of the island by foot.

I'd think this property better described as a homestay than a hostel, there are no dorms and the structure is owned/shared with the family. The privates are fantastically decorated and cozy. Expect the perfect amount of quilts and covers for the undoubtedly cold nights. The WiFi and breakfast are both remarkable. This is no frills but an excellent place to base your exploration of the island (adjacent to trailhead). The family is wonderful and so is the value, I highly recommend staying here.

This is a wonderful hostel that is VERY far from the port. Be prepared for a long walk. Once you are up there, the views of both sides of the island are incredible. We stayed for two nights, and I recommend this for a stay of more than one night for sure.
I will say that there was not a 24 hour office as advertised, and we also had no shower or toilet seat. We also never received a key for the room, forcing us to leave it unlocked.
