● Check-in time is 16:00 – 21:00. Check-out time is 11:00.
● The entrance will be locked at 21:00. If you are late, your reservation is automatically canceled, and the cancellation fee is needed. Please be forewarned.
● There is no curfew after check-in. The guests could go out and come back freely.
● We could keep the luggage before check-in time and after check out time. (Reception hours 8:30-14:30/16:00-21:00)
● The guests can pay with cash or credit card at check-in. Credit cards are available. VISA, MasterCard are acceptable.
The Historical Architecture
● Please kindly note that it has low sound insulation, cause the original appearance of 100 years historical architecture is kept as much as possible.
● Although the stairs are steep, sounds and voices are easy to echo, we accept children aged 3. We hope children to be familiar with the original charm of Machiya, unique to traditional Japanese life style.

● From Kyoto Station Bus Terminal “B3” platform, Kyoto City Bus “205” ride. Get off “Shichijo-Omiya, Kyoto Aquarium” bus stop, One minute walk.

not a very comfortable stay. there were no staff working (due to covid) which meant i just had to leave exact change in my room, there was an additional 400 yen added to my total on the paper form and i'm not totally sure why. the building was old, quite old and creaky and kind of cold. the bunks were super cramped, i couldn't even sit up straight in mine and i'm only 5 foot 6. the bathrooms were outside.

If you are looking for have kind of like an ancient Japanese experience this might work. The building are very old and feel truly authentic, nevertheless that also comes with a price, being how noisy it gets sometimes. The wood and the thin walls make you hear everything, and the majority of the other guests —mostly westerns, seem to selfish to comply with the rules of silence to not bother others.
The place could improve a little bit the cleaning part and the way the check in is working now with COVID, it

Significant issues:
Had to carry a heavy bag all day since storage is unprotected.
Had to call three times costing me almost as much as the room just because check-in info was incorrect, couldn't enter desk area and find the "hidden" stairway. This was considered funny.
The guy at the front desk had as his first priority to get me out of there instead of answering questions.
The hostel itself is actually fine and would rate it ok but these issues caused significant and expensive hurdles.
