Dar Gamra is a typical Moroccan accommodation and it is decorated in a traditional Berber style.
We organise different trips to explore the desert: sunset/sunrise camel-trekking, night camping in the desert, Jeep visit to Khamlia village, Nomad family and the Mefis mines.
We are located below the great dune of Merzouga, less than five minutes walking from Supratours bus station and from the local taxi stand. Khamlia village is about 7 km away and the Dayet Serji Lac is about 2 km far. The Nomadic tent is about 2 hours by Jeep and the Desert Camp is about 1 hour by camel trekking. We are 30 km from Rissani, 50Km from Erfoud and 5 minutes by foot from the bus station is about.
We offer a mix of private rooms and dorms with bathroom and hot shower. Easily my favorite experience in Morocco! Barak is an amazing host who made our lives so much easier through the whole experience. He picked us up from the bus stop (at 7 am), made breakfast, arranged a desert camp + 4x4 tour, and even invited me to his family home to break the fast during Ramadan. He also let me stay in a private room rather than the dorm I booked for free. The showers had good pressure and hot water, the common area was comfortable, just all around I would highly recommend!

Dar Gamra is the perfect place to stay in Merzouga in my opinion because it's the closest to the desert, has a roof to see the stars yet a 10 minute walk to the restaurant street and little shops. Barek is a very good host who has obviously been doing this for a long time. They helped arrange me a taxi to Fez with other people which was a great help :) thankyou and see you again soon!
Dar Gamra also has a desert camp which was amazing I was told ðŸ«

This is a traditional Berber home just on the edge of the Sahara desert making it a good cultural experience. The owner and everybody in the house were welcoming and pleasant. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was very comfortable with nice and warm bedding. There was a big kitchen and living room as well as a big outside patio. During my stay, there were not many travelers so the atmosphere was not what I was hoping for. I was asked too many times for booking camel trips.
