This was the best hostal experience I have ever had in my life. Gilf and his wife are INCREDIBLE!! They made me and my friends feel at home, I can’t say thank you enough!! The hostal is clean, the water is very warm, the beds are comfy and Gilf is an amazing human being. We did laguna 69 hike all day and we had our bus back to Lima after. Gilf gave us the room to shower and treated us like their own sons! Please stay with them!!

It has a hotel vibe, not a hostel vibe. Not ideal for digital nomads because the internet constantly drops. Getting hot showers is tricky since you have to turn on the sink water before using the shower and let the water warm up for 7-10 minutes. Surrounded by mechanic shops so walking to the center is a long 25-35 minute walk and pretty dirty. However, the place is very clean and has a good kitchen.

What’s not to love about a family owned hostel? Everyone was extremely welcoming and super informative. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone. The host is insanely knowledgeable about the trekking in the area and about Huaraz itself, ask any question and he will have the answers! You can take a colectivo/taxi to and from the center of town to the hostel itself. I stayed a few extra nights because of the current protests and they were more than accommodating.
