Property Description
Located in the centre of the Isle of Skye, this former Post Office offers a warm and friendly environment. The hostel is noticeable for its vibrant yellow colour along with its imaginative interior. The spacious kitchen and dining room, housed in the original sorting room, is the perfect place to meet other backpackers whilst enjoying the fabulous view across Portree Bay to the Cuillins from the window.
The hostel, once the main post office for the island, has been converted into a hostel with bags of character whilst being well provided with excellent facilities.The reception and lounge is the original post office counter area, still with the original safe, clock, service counter and access, and WiFi throughout the hostel.
Our hostel is easy to find, public transport is a minute's walk and parking, shops, tourist information and parking a short walking distance. With rooms range from 4 bedded to 12 bedded, along with offering family friendly and female only dorms
A self- service laundry is available daily from 11 am to 9pm .
Conditions
The reception works from 7:30 am to 10 am and 3pm to 10 pm.
• The guest can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival. The guest will be charged the total price of the reservation if they cancel in the 7 days before arrival.
Check in from 16:00 to 21:00 .
Check out before 10:00 .
Payment upon arrival by cash.
Taxes included.

Good place to stay while in Portree and found staff very nice. 12 bed dorms are a bit tight but overall okay. Facilities are nice -- bathrooms are clean and showers are good. Beds are comfortable but no good accessible outlets if on top bunk. I would not plan for this hostel to be a place to hang out, but as point to explore Skye, it does the job. Also a 2 min walk from the bus station so that's a definite plus if using public transport.

Overall not a bad hostel and sufficient for spending the night. However If you are looking to socialize, well your out of luck. No real lounges and the atmosphere is incredibly sterile. Staff is very friendly tough and the cleanliness was fine. This hostel has potential but it really only does the bare minimum to satisfy its customers.
