Overall really great: low cost, nice and comfortable rooms, lots of communal spaces and a roof terrace. Staff spoke good English esp May who gave us helpful local advice! Well organised trips and the dumpling party was fun. Still mostly Chinese tourists who didn't speak English but we met a few friendly foreigners there. Downsides: you need a Chinese phone number to use the one washing machine, silly in a youth hostel though staff do help, and the bathroom flooded a lot but not a huge issue.

The location is great! The building is right outside a subway station, so it’s easy to move around if you’re using public transportation. There’s a gym on the 4th floor (it’s not part of the hostel) but it’s convenient if you like training, one visit is 100rmb. The bed is comfortable and the locker space is quite big. The ayis keep the room and the toilet clean throughout the day. If you need some time to read or chill, there’s a space with a view to the main avenue. The staff is very helpful.
