We loved our stay at Buena Nota Hostel. The staff there is really nice and welcoming. We quickly felt at home. They have great facilities such as a nice pool, kitchen and a bar. Also the hostel isn’t far from the beach and shops, restaurants and bars.
We would recommend to everybody going to Jacó.

This hostel is super close to the beach which is great! The room was fine, lockers a bit small, but equipped with multiple fans. Staff were helpful in booking a surf lesson at short notice, and the owner was really nice. The area is quite noisy from parties until 3-4am so be prepared with ear buds!

Tried to contact the hostel through WhatsApp and email after my AirPods got stolen from one of the rooms… they never replied ! Just be extra careful with your belongings in this hostel, especially if you don’t have lockers in your room as was the case for the dorm I was in.
Anecdotally, no one told us when checking in that there would be a town-wide preplanned power cut the next day.
Wanted to leave a good review as I have done for all the hostels I have stayed in but unfortunately my experience was not good.
Ps: my AirPods were last seen calle Villalobos, one town over, so I’m pretty sure it was someone local who stole them. The person at reception was lovely, only good things to say about him.
