Hostelworld says
Hostelworld users say one of the best features of Safestay Lisboa is the relaxed, friendly and helpful staff who are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge of Lisbon’s best sights, restaurants and entertainment spots. We like that this hostel has multiple outdoor terraces and many of our visitors say they’d return here the next time they’re in Lisbon. It’s located in a ‘quiet but very central location’ near Baixo and Bairro Alto and is a very short walk from the Rossio train station.

The room was straight onto the street and the wifi didn’t reach the loft. The top bed were hard to reach bc the stairs of the bunkbeds were very awkward. Loads of stairs to reach the lobby. Very nice and well equipped kitchen. Not a party/young hostal and little to no common room life.

As a place to sleep...fine I guess. It is up a very steep hill, and also steep stairs to get into the hostel. Its Lisbon, so. Staff when I checked in seemed disinterested, I was not shown around the hostel. Shower stall was tiny, although I did like the little adjacent area for changing. Lockers were annoying, below the bunk but the door lifts up, so you have to hold it while accessing your stuff. Whole place could have been a bit cleaner. You get what you pay for.

Safestay Lisbon Bairro Alto says
We're pretty proud of our great location in a refurbished, but very modern, gorgeous palace from the 18th century, right in downtown, especially because we've got four common areas and fantastic views over Lisbon! Our staff really try to create a joyful atmosphere here. For fun we have dinners and happy hours which create a great atmosphere where everybody meets everybody. And due to our multiple common areas, it's possible to either meet and chat with other guests or have a relaxed time while reading a book.
Downtown and Bairro Alto (the nightlife district) are just two minutes way from the hostel. Literally! If somebody asks me about the best spot in Lisboa, I generally tell them to visit Praça do Comércio by the river, which is the main and most beautiful square in Lisbon.
