Property Description
Giramundo is a hostel with a young spirit, full of culture and run by travellers for travellers. Our goal is that you have a very nice time and enjoy the best of the island, taking advantage of the enormous possibilities it offers within a social environment as we have. Giramundo has 17 rooms on three floors. They represent through design a journey through different countries around the world, themed by different local artists, creating an atmosphere with life and colour. We offer a range of private rooms (with private or shared bathroom). Our rates are consistent with the characteristics of each room offering an excellent value for money service compared to what is currently on offer in the island.
Guests are allowed to use our communal kitchen and common areas from april until october

POTENTIAL SCAM BEWARE!! My friend and I are both females from the USA and stayed here together. When we checked in the individual at the front desk informed us that we were required to pay with cash. We mentioned that this was mentioned nowhere and the website here specifically says credit card accepted. The staff member held firm and told us we needed cash, and he recommended a bank to obtain the amount needed (since we did not bring cash due to believing credit cards were accepted). The bank was a long walk and you could only obtain money if you were a member or part of a European banking system. We spent over 2 hours walking and trying to find somewhere without extremely high conversion rates. We were told we could pay the cash later and we decided to deal with it another day. At the end of our trip we went back to the front desk to clarify the amount needed and ask a few questions. A different staff member was working and he immediately took our credit cards, with no mention of this being a cash only place. We are not sure the intention of the original staff member but feel it may have been a scam! As two, young, female travelers who speak minimal Spanish we immediately felt unsafe at this hostel. Would not recommend. Further, the location is a distance from all of the nightlife locations and we were required to take taxis everywhere.
