Property Description

Arusha Greenhouse Hostel can accommodate up to 22 people. There are three dorm rooms; one eight-bed dorm and two four-bed dorms, each with en-suite facilities. There is also a private room for two people with shared bathroom facilities including hot showers and western toilets. Room prices include breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Pick-up from town, bus station, shuttle station, and any airport can be arranged upon request.

The lounge area is comfortable and homely with free Wi-Fi access. The outdoor terrace has a self-service bar, TV, DVD player, games, darts, and a pool table. There are bicycles available to hire for the first hour free of charge. The garden area has space available for camping guests.

Arusha Greenhouse Hostel is run by the non-profit organization The Green Living Planet which provides short and long-term volunteering opportunities.

I was wisiting in low season so not alot of other travellers, but the staff was amazing and really helpfull. Diana was so nice and made really good food. They also have the cutest hostel cat, miss him already.

Diana is the best host ever! She was helpful and kind, she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. She helped us to get a nice taxi driver, very reliable and safe. The place is very clean, they clean the room daily; and you have soft drinks, water, snacks, and eggs that you can cook for breakfast. The location is in a good place, very relaxing and far from the noise, but also close to Shopping, restaurants, etc. The room has a nice comfy bed, hot shower, and mosquito net.

I was the only guest because it was low season and the owner said he was going to close the hostel but he never closed bookings. He then left for a few hours leaving me completely alone in the building. There was then a power cut so I was completely alone and in the dark for 3 hours. Power cuts are happening everyday in Arusha so he should have predicted this and not left me alone like that. During this time 100s of mosquitos appeared in the room and I discovered a large growth of mould.
