In the heart of Syracuse's historical centre lies island of Ortigia, selected by the Greeks as a location for founding the city.
Here, in a characteristic and peaceful alley, just a few steps from Arethusa's Fountain and Piazza Duomo, in a XVIIth century palace is the Casa Vacanze Aretusa, a holiday house which was completely restructured in 2020.
The holiday house offers one- or two-room apartments, all perfectly equipped with the most modern comforts: en-suite bathrooms, linens, sat TV (broad selection of TV channels from around the world), equipped kitchenettes, refrigerators, air conditioning/heating, safe, telephone in the room.
The breakfast is served every morning on the roof terrace, with nice views over the harbour and the rooftops of Ortigia.
Parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is needed) and costs EUR 20 per day.

I would highly recommend Aretusa Vacanze for a place to stay in Syracuse. The location made it easy to walk everywhere. Very clean, large rooms, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast every morning with cheeses, jams, pastries, meats, coffee. The price was extremely affordable for the value and the treatment here. It deserves all the awards it has received.

This place is wonderful!!! The location is perfect! So close walking to so many great sites! I was in room 2 and it was the cutest little loft! I loved it and if I ever come back to Siracusa I’m going to stay here in that room! The staff are very helpful and kind. They called me a taxi to take me to the bus station. Breakfast is the best!!!! It’s on the rooftop with an amazing view! And it’s a huge spread of homemade ricotta, and other cheeses, assorted meats, fresh squeezed juice! enjoy!!!
