About Bruges
One of Europe’s best-preserved cities, you’ll find yourself immersed in a picturesque town where canals connect Insta-worthy market squares and stunning buildings lay side-by-side. Chocolate lovers will find themselves in sweet tooth heaven surrounded by delicious treats and Belgium chocolate.
During your time in Belgium, you can find a variety of hostels in Bruges, from budget to modern-chic accommodation, offering both private and dorm room options and usually free Wi-Fi. No matter what style of travel you’re after we’re sure one of Bruges hostels will be the perfect fit for your adventures. Craft beer lovers should look out for the one with over 40 on offer that does tastings at the hostel every day! To get to know the city from a local’s perspective, choose a Bruges hostel that offers free walking tours of the city.
Like in most cities, choosing a hostel that is more central will allow for great access to a lot of public transport and you’ll be right in the centre of the action. If you’re looking for something a little less busy we have a hostel located just 5km away from Bruges along the Boudewijn Canal. Alternatively, if you’re a beach bum and love long walks along the beach, why not stay in our popular seaside resort.
A trip to Belgium wouldn’t be complete without a beer tour of some sort. Go beer tasting or join a beer-walk. Seeing that Bruges is a city of canals why not see it from another perspective and hop on a boat to tour the town from the water. If you’re a chocolate lover, eat lots and lots of Belgian chocolate with the most appetizing selection of truffles and pralines. While you’re in town don’t miss a trip to Markt or Market Square, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the cutest colourful buildings. Romantics out there, a fun and unique way to see the town (and live out your Cinderella fairy-tale) is to ride around in a horse-drawn carriage.
In terms of getting around Bruges, you’ll find yourself with many affordable options, such as walking, cycling, buses and trains. Cycling and walking in Bruges is a nice way to explore the city more thoroughly, plus you’ll find special car-free bike paths marked around the city making cycling easier and safer. You also have the option of taxis; however, they are expensive.
