Hola Ola is a traveler-owned and traveler-inspired hostel located in the idyllic and booming beach town of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. At Hola Ola, we have the simple yet powerful mission of connecting free souls with the things and people that make them feel alive. We are re not simply a place to stay. The positive impact that a hostel can and should have on its guests is at the heart of everything we do.
We are a spacious 30-bed hostel with equal affinity for surfing adventures, wild parties and chill pool days. Hola Olas balance between fun and tranquility makes it the ideal atmosphere for whatever you are looking to do.
Hola Ola is located a breezy 10 minutes beach-walk from the heart of town and close enough that everything that San Juan has to offer is at your fingertips, yet far enough to escape the noise of the town if you'd like.

No Credit Card payment for rooms.
Payment upon arrival by cash.

Pros: volunteers are lovely and helpful. The free shuttle into town (but stops at midnight). Enough fans and extra for a/c. Wholesome events every night but by no means the party hostel.
Cons: no kitchen available for use!! Locker small and outside the rooms. Showers filthy. Check in staff not welcoming just told me straight away what time check in is. There were bugs crawling everywhere in the room (sheets too). Dangerous to walk into town. Have to party at other hostels. High food prices.

Perfectly nice hostel with friendly staff but you can tell that it has aged with the rooms and the facilities now being outdated and breaking. It is a short walk out of town across the beach but frequent shuttles are run when it’s dark. Would happily stay again

Stayed in a private room with air con, pretty grubby and shabby but got the job done, no hot water in the shower and no towels bit overpriced for what the room was.
Lovely staff and volunteers, great breakfast for $2 shuttle to town,great to meet people pool and pool table massive bonuses.
