Property Description
The Earthship Patagonia is an Ecological hostel with a permacultural orientation. We have natural buildings and foods that grow in our garden.
The project began construction in 2015 thanks to the help of more than 70 students and volunteers. The original construction was designed and directed by architect Michael Reynolds. Over time, the project grew and today it has other facilities such as Yurts, winter gardens, a kitchen and common space with a tree room above.
We have 2 private rooms and 3 shared rooms (for 4, 5 and 6 people)
All bathrooms are shared; we have two in the Earthship greenhouse and two dry toilets outside. We have 2 indoor showers that recycle water for toilets and 3 showers in the conservatory that run on electricity.
Our cuisine is vegetarian, both for use and for consumption. It can be used for cooking from 10 am to 6 pm since at night we offer delicious vegetarian dinners. They are not included in the value of the accommodation.
All options have a delicious homemade breakfast.
We have a large organic vegetable garden with an incredible view of the wonderful Cerro Piltriquitrón. There are plenty of places to sit and watch the birds, cats, mountains, and plants while they grow.
We are just 7 blocks from the main square.
Here we separate our plastic waste so we can later use it in construction, so we ask that each traveler contribute to the separation of their own waste and we also compost the organic matter we generate so we can later use that land in our garden.

- More about the project:
The Earthship Patagonia in El Bolsón is also part of a larger project that seeks to raise awareness and demonstrate that another way of life is possible, a more sustainable way of life with the environment and among people. We are a network that has an ecological hostel in Lago Puelo (Chubut), the "Shelter Río Azul", a hostel in Gualjaina (Chubut), the "Piedra Parada Climbing Hostel" and a "Yoga Farm", in the same town.

We loved our time at Earthship! We had a relaxing and peaceful stay which was such a lovely break. The atmosphere was very welcoming and chill- everyone was lovely. The eco buildings and the room were really cool and the showers were amazing. The communal dinners meant you could have healthy and delicious home-cooked food everyday. It’s a bit more awkward and less comfy than a normal hostel in places (I.e. more outside) but you get used to it quickly. Also, lots of cats!

The earth ship itself was interesting but the atmosphere was not very inclusive. We felt like we were imposing. It was also not clear that we couldn’t use the kitchen after 5pm so we bought ingredients for dinner we then couldn’t make.
