Very social hostel and other travelers were fun to talk to hang out with. Building was old and run down. Staff were rude and didn’t know what was going on. One staff member told me I could use the laundry machine I asked if I had to pay and she said no so I put my stuff in. An another got very mad at me and yelled at me for using the laundry machine. Some of the activities offered did not actually happen (hike ect) and no notice was provided. Music is loud and is playing all day.

This hostel took a picture of my credit card and the also made me add all my credit card information to some page for the payment, in addition i had to take a photo of face. ive visited numerous coutries/many hostles and have never seen it before but it felt very concerning. I asked the man at reception who didnt seem to like it, the facilities are very basic.

La Chimba Hostel says

I think Barrio Bellavista is arguably the most interesting district of Santiago, as far as cultural attractions and vibrant nightlife goes. The area is an oasis of colorful low-rise colonial architecture with leafy streets and a village-like atmosphere, and just a short walk to Plaza Italia, the Times Square of Santiago. The Baquedano Hub Metro station is located here and is the station that provides the most connectivity of the whole subway system. I particularly recommend visiting Cerro San Cristobal (the Metropolitan Park, a tall hill with a cable cart and amazing views of the city) and poet Pablo Neruda's former house, which is open to visitors. Both are less than two blocks away from our hostel. We can cater for people with disabilities and our hostel is suitable for independent solo travellers and couples seeking a social place to meet other travellers and experience Santiago's culture and nightlife.
