Alice Lodge Backpacker - due to extreme staff shoratges in NT, our reception is unattended majority of the time. We have fully automated self check-in system and all information gets sent out 48 hours prior to arrival. Any questions can be directed via email, call, and various message portals including What'sApp.
We still offer free WiFi and luggage storage. 24h kitchen, pool and garden with hammocks.
Our small and secure property is Alice Springs's most relaxed and unique with home style Comfort in the Red Centre.
We are just a 10-minute walk from Alice Springs Town centre. We free high-speed Internet free linen, towels, and free luggage storage while you're out on tour.
A great place to relax and unwind before and after your Uluru tour. All dorms have air conditioning, a fridge, beds with comfy spring mattresses and security lockers. Choose from small mixed or female dorms, doubles or twins or triples. All linen is supplied.
Facilities: A Sparkling Swimming pool and Suntan area, fully equipped Kitchen/Outback BBQ, laundry facilities and relaxing hammocks.

It does feel a bit strange to not have any staff onsite, I think I’d feel a bit more secure if there was at least one person just in case. Saying that, the hostel and facilities were clean, it’s a little out of town but not too far a walk - about 15 mins. Just felt a bit like a ghost hostel

I feel like this place was once super cool but due to staff shortages or whatever, it’s lost its luster. Totally fine place for a night but would be tough for a longer stay. Biggest complaint is absolutely paper thin walls at least in my room, could hear conversation, in detail, on either side of me. Put up some foam or moving blankets to get some sound proofing.

You will not encounter any humans responsible for running this place while checking in, staying, or at any point until you leave. It is all done through automated machines and CCTV cameras. No soul, and weird long term / non-backpacker guests who live in the property and disturb guests. Good location and clean facilities, but that is it. Do not expect any hospitality whatsoever. Do not recommend for social Backpackers
