Welcome to Hostal Barcelona! The Guesthouse has 57 rooms with bathroom, TV, heating and air conditioning. It was completely rebuilt and has single, double and triple rooms.
We offer daily cleaning service of rooms and common areas until 2 p.m. Hot water 24 hours. You can find a continental breakfast buffet from 7.30 to 10.30 a.m. (extra charge of 6 euros per person) and service of cold and hot drinks and pastries 24 hours. Information about Barcelona, city maps, rent a car and safe deposit boxes are available at the reception desk. Free wire-less. TV, hairdryer and free WIFI in the rooms.
The Guesthouse is located at number 40 of Roser Street, very near of Paral.lel Avenue, in the area of the theatres. It is located 15 minutes by foot to Las Ramblas (city centre), the port and Plaa Espanya (where trade fairs are held). You can get around Barcelona by underground (which we call metro) 100 metres from the property, with lines 2 and 3. The nearest metro station is Paral.lel, way out called Ronda San Pau-Fontrodona. There are also many bus lines nearby, at Paral.lel Avenue.
English, French and Italian spoken.

Pros: staff really nice, decent location, comfortable bed double beds. Aircon works. One of the staff workers went out of his way to make sure I had wifi for work, and gave us free breakfast because we ended up buying two rooms (husband snores).
Cons: NO WIFI! They say they have WiFi, but it doesn’t work, not even in lobby. security is average. Anyone could walk in, say any room number and get a key. Single beds are uncomfortable, pillows are terrible. Rooms are dingy and cramped.

This hostel really disappointed. For the amount of money we paid (about £90 for a double room for a Monday night) I was expecting a relatively comfortable bed, and to not be given an allergic reaction from the amount of dust in the room. The main issue though was the fact we were given two single beds rather than a double, despite requesting a double specifically. Not sure why, but I can assume it was because we were two women (we’re a couple mind) who they assumed wouldn’t want to share a bed.

The room was tiny and facilities very old. Bed quiet uncomfortable and fragile. Overall room looked very old and ugly. Much worse then in the photos. Practically no window. Worst place I stayed in in a long time and way overpriced. Breakfast below basic.
On the positive side most of the staff was very nice and friendly and despite being old place was clean.
