This gorgeous area has beautiful scenic walks, our magical Mauao mountain, hot salt water pools (discounted price for guests), excellent surfing, fishing, swimming, and not to mention cafes and bars right on your door step.
Come and relax in our friendly courtyard, or if outdoor adventure is more your style, look no further! Mount Backpackers can book swimming with dolphin tours, learn to surf packages, white water rafting, sky diving, blokarting, horse riding, night kayaking and plenty more.
Or, if you are running short of cash and looking for work over summer, local employers contact us first for workers. Winter work can also be arranged. Fruit picking starts in April and runs into September. (We can offer weekly rates once you arrive).

It's really easy meeting new people, as there is a big space to socialize :) The bathroom area could be modernized, but except for that we had a wonderful night here!

Mount backpackers is the place to be! It’s near everything you could ever want in a surf town and has great staff, both helpful and welcoming. I highly suggest staying here for long term seekers, or even if it’s just for a night - you won’t regret it. :)
