Hostel Kaiken is located in El Chaltén. El Chaltén is a village within Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina's Santa Cruz province. It's a gateway to trails surrounding the peaks of Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy to the northwest. Near Fitz Roy, a path leads to the Laguna de los Tres viewpoint. Just northwest of the village, the shores of Laguna Capri offer mountain views. Shops line San Martín, one of the village's main streets.
Kaiken Hostel is a small family business and has 4 bedrooms (3 rooms with two bunks, ie, quadruple and a triple) with two shared bathrooms, kitchen, living room. Service has Wifi, microwave, hot water, central heating.
In addition, we have private and independent apartments to the hostel for three and four people, including bedding, towels, amenities, utensils, kitchen with oven, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, Italian coffee maker, hair dryer....

Location is super convenient especially for the Laguna Cerre hike which starts right out the front door of this spot. However I found the property didn’t feel super clean. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was half decent. Overall fine but nothing too special.

Really nice owners, simple but good facilities, comfy beds, maybe would be nice to have a lock for the doors since I didn’t have a padlock ! But they did have lockers if you had your own lock with you :)
Exactly what you need for your stay in El Chalten, would definitely stay again.

It's a budget option, so not the nicest but value is just fine. Bathrooms and kitchen a bit crowded due to number of beds. Cleaning staff work hard, there are just a lot of people in a small space. I would stay here again, especially if I could get a private room. Did have good lockers which is nice.
