Located in the quiet outskirts of Thamel, Shantipur is one of cozy hostels in the Kathmandu Valley. We offer free wireless fiber optic internet throughout the building, 24 hour power, a free secure store room for those trekking, wall fans in each room, and hot showers on each floor. Our restaurant offers Nepali, Continental, and Israeli food, and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks from 07:30 to 22:30 - and our bar promises cold beer and late night conversations with fellow travelers.

The hostel has a very authentic feel and I instantly felt at home. I stayed for 10 days and didn't want to leave. I will definitely return when I'm next in Kathmandu.
The rooms are bright and airy with a bathroom on each floor and separate toilets, all of which are meticulously cleaned regularly.
The owners and family are super friendly and helpful. There are two areas for chilling out and the vibe of the hostel is great

Dope location with an awesome view of the city. The rooftop is perfect for meeting people and the staff is SO friendly. They really make you feel at home. My only warning is the bathrooms are really not clean at all and the showers are not the best.

Owners made me feel so welcome+were happy to help in any way.It's right in heart of busy neighbourhood near temples,mandala art shops,clothes shops,restaurants so plenty to do there.I stayed in 10 bed dorm and put rolled up tissue dipped in vaseline in my ears to block out noise+also wore an eyepad over my eyes in case people come in late turning lights on,and I slept like a baby.Very comfortable bed.The bathroom/shower is super small/basic, but for for price you pay,good for a 3 day stay
