Property Description

The Lost and Found Hostel is Panama's only hike in jungle hostel, located in the cloud forests of Chiriqui Province, Panama.

Stunning views of Volcan Baru set the backdrop for this jungle lodge. Located in the Fortuna Nature Reserve, immerse yourself in nature by exploring the miles of trails inside the park or simply lounging in a hammock watching the hummingbirds visit at this majestic property.

We offer a unique and social housing experience, exciting tours, and many activities included in the price of your stay such as hiking and treasure hunts, and waterfall excursions. We have a varied menu for breakfast and lunch with vegetarian and vegan options. Every evening, at 6pm, we have a family dinner where all the guests get a chance to get to know each other. The social vibe continues into the evening in the jungle bar with good music, drinks and fun games. The bar is located away from the sleeping areas, so whether you are looking for a fun and social atmosphere or just to relax and recharge for your next adventurous day, there is something here for everyone.

The view is spectacular, the volunteers are lovely and the room was spacious. Plenty bathrooms and great hot showers, which considering you are in the jungle are decently clean. You can buy food and snacks there at affordable prices, but it’s all vegan so if that’s not your style you will struggle. We preferred the breakfasts over the lunch/dinner meals. It’s important to appreciate the limited cooking facilities though! Their bar is fun!! Btw there are only a few hikes to do from the hostel.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in over my four month trip of Central America. The most beautiful views of the valley with lovely trail walks around the hostel. There is always a worry when going to a hostel with nothing around it and limited kitchen facilities that you are going to end up spending a lot, this is not the case, the meals are well priced, between $5-$6.50 and the portion sizes are great. I loved my stay here and I would urge anybody passing through to stay here.
