Mama Orbe is a hostel located on the Pacific coast of Colombia. We are located at Cuevita beach, it is a remote place approximately 4 kilometers from the city center. The town is called El Valle and is part of the municipality of Bahía Solano.

An incredible place: they organize for you waterever tour you want to take, they offer amazing food, the location is excellent (only hostel on that beach), you can do turtle watching and liberation nearly every day, because the turtle sanctuary is part of the hostel, staff is also incredible...

I stayed 3 nights, and the experience was mixed. First, the good: Beautiful location (about 5km south of El Valle on the beach), Mama Orbe was very nice, and her son Dario runs an amazing turtle sanctuary (we let baby turtles go, and saw an adult laying eggs on the beach). The bad: It wasn't very clean (bathroom wastebaskets not emptied, etc.), I got a lot of itchy bites that I am pretty sure were from bedbugs, and it was hard to arrange daytrips due to the lack of cell phone service.

Mama Orbe is a lovely and peaceful place right on the Pacific coast! I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for something different. Cabañas are simple but ok. Also mama Orbe is very kind person so is her son.
