Property Description
Just an 8 minute walk from Hualien train station and you will arrive at Travel Charger Hostel, your home away from home in Hualien. Unlike the touristic downtown area, the surrounding area has more of a local feel. It’s less busy and quieter, but it still has several amenities nearby. We have a convenience store right on the corner, a grocery/hardware store across the street, and a pharmacy and laundromat right next door. Getting food around here is not a problem; and because of the Buddhist university and hospital nearby, it’s also a vegetarian friendly area.
Aside from our comfy beds and a sufficient number of hot showers, we also have a stylish common area where we host some holiday events. It’s also a great place to relax, read a book or work.
The whole building is smoke-free, but we have an outdoor terrace with ashtrays and a few benches where smokers can enjoy themselves. The terrace is one of our guests’ favorite places to hangout and have a few drinks at night. It’s also a regular party spot for the Travel Charger team and our neighbors, and we're always happy to have new people join us.

[Things to Note]
1.The 2nd and the 3rd floor are shoe-free areas, bring your own indoor slippers if needed.
2.As this is an eco-friendly hostel, we encourage you to bring your own towel, toothbrush and toothpaste. Shower gel and shampoo are provided in every bathroom.
3.Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out during our service hours.
4.We don't accept credit cards, so any balance due must be paid in CASH.
5.You have 24 hours access with your room card and attached locker key.
6.The locker in the room is quite small. Feel free to ask us for help keeping your extra luggage or valuable belongings.

It's a 12-15 minute walk from the Hualien train station. There are other hostels right outside the train station.
Not too long, but it feels long when the temperature is 30C with high humidity.
the lockers here are very small. Around 308.1 mm x 223.27 mm X 150 mm in size. Luckily the receptionist found a metal chain that I tied to various fixed objects. I think they could easily fix this by attaching a hook or something on the bed frame and then providing a small chain.

Amazingly friendly and welcoming. Hualien is a small but close-knit community. May and Lily welcomed me into their friendship group with open arms.
The hostel is very relaxed and has an artistic vibe. Room and facilities are clean and comfortable.
