Community Hostel is an excellent choice for your visit to AlausÃ! Extremely clean, great location, hot water. All trains in Ecuador were stopped by Presidential decree in January 2020 and, sadly, the Train to the Devil’s Nose remains out of service as of September 2024. The town is charming and worth a visit despite the lack of train.

Great hostel, it is unfortunate that not many people come to AlausÃ, just because the train to “la nariz del diablo†is closed. You can still hike the path to see it and it is very scenic, with loads of pretty birds on the path. I was here just before Christmas and participated in the local celebrations, wich was a parade and games like Piñata. The hostel is very modern and clean and offers free tea. Totally recommended!
